Up for sale isa 1970 Dodge Challenger RT convertible with a 426 Hemi engine. It is one of the 9 produced and one of the 4 automatics with 3 known to exist. Dwain purchased the car in 1979 in Olathe, Kansas. It was originally sublime in color andin the restoration in 1979 it was painted plum crazy. The car was originally ordered from a dealership in St Louis, Mo. The ID number isJS27ROB159854. This is the confirmed on the door, the title, the broadcast sheet, the cowl, and the radiator brackethas the matching number also. The car was built in October 1969. There is a history that the Hemi engine was pulled out of the Challenger Convertible in 1974 in the St. Louis, Mo. area. The numbers were then ground off and stamped with a 1966 Hemi Satellite number. For the year, only the number 6 was left on the block. This history has been known with the car engine for decades and was confirmed at the purchase back of the motor. The engine was thenput in a Hemi Satellite and was in the car for 10 years in the St. Louis area.Dwain purchased the engine and had the engine professionally rebuilt. The original build sheet for the 1970 Hemi Dodge Challenger RT Convertible was in the passenger side seat and will be included in the sale. The car is one of the rarest Hemi challengers for a collector to purchase.
