I believe the mileage is correct. Seats and Dash all look original and not replaced as far as I know. I did a tune up on it last fall and the ORIGINAL plugs and wires from the factory were still on there. The previous owner bought this from a guy in NH that bought it brand new, so I'm guessing I'm the third owner. First I really hate to get rid of this rig, but the reason why I'm selling is because it's only a single cab and because I want to be able to take my family (two young boys) when I drive my truck, I'm going to need an extended cab. Other than that, I have truly fallen in love with this vehicle. It's been my daily driver for the past 9 months and has started for me every time and ran well.
I AM NOT A MECHANIC. Just wanted to throw that out there.
It doesn't burn oil or smoke. I changed the oil last fall and it still looks good today...maybe down a half a quart, maybe.
318, Automatic.
4WD with Manual Locking Hubs.
Power windows that go as fast up and down as a brand new vehicle. Power Locks. Power steering.
Has tow package. Intermittent wipers work.
Air Conditioning - everything is there. Previous Owner said it worked but needed a charge. I hadn't had the opportunity to use it, so I don't know, but it's all there.
All the gauges work.
Previous owner put in a lift kit. Tires still have the little stubs on them....the wheels and tires alone are probably a couple thousand dollars right there. I did drive this thing in snow and it did well. I googled the tire brand and it was made for "snow and mud" and did awesome in the snow. I was always told wide monster tires are horrible for winter, but not these.
What I did to it (paid a mechanic to do) just because I wanted it to run good and properly maintain it:
-new carb
-new plugs/wires/rotor
-new fuel pump
-new fuel/air filter
-oil change last fall - only put a few thousand miles on it since
-we changed some of the metal fuel lines that were getting soft and put rubber lines
Things that I noticed that may need attention, remember, I'm not a mechanic:
-It rides pretty stiff and I was going to soften the ride this year, but decided to sell in favor of an extended cab. I thought the new owner might want to actually use it as a truck instead of a daily driver/commuter like I wanted.
-It wanders quite a bit when driving down the road. I was told it could be as simple as an alignment, only because when it took a sticker a few months ago, the front end was tight and solid.
-It doesn't have a ton of pickup/power when going up hills or taking off in the beginning and was told that it is most likely a vacuum leak, but not sure.
-Speedometer is off by 5 mph because of the big tires.
I would literally trust this vehicle to go across country as long as you took it easy, meaning, not go 85+ or whatnot.....but am sure it would make it just fine.
I DO NOT HAVE TO SELL THIS RIG.....I love it, but can't justify it sitting and not getting used, but I will not take a low-ball offer. I will negotiate for sure. I'm not looking for trades. The extended cab I'm looking for is very specific and I doubt anyone will have it for trade. I will most likely need to venture out of state for that older rig; similar to this Dodge, just with a back seat for my boys.
