1969 Dodge Coronet 440

I have owned and driven this car on special occasions for 20 years. It has always been dependable and economical to drive. I drove it to the Mopar Nationals in Columbus, Ohio years ago from Arkansas in the hot summer time and got 17mpg with the air on all the way. In my possession it has always been in an enclosed garage and kept out of the elements. It is to the point that her unrestored age is beginning to show somewhat and is beginning to need some restoration that because of my health and age, I am unable to do anymore. The pictures pretty much speak for the condition of the car. What is not shown and I did take pictures with it on a lift is the condition of everything underneath. The picture loader on ebay shut me off after 24 photos. I can email additional photos of any of that if supplied with an email address. The floor pans are fine throughout. They were carefully inspected years ago when I put new carpet in it. There is no rust through anywhere underneath. This car DOES have the typical Mopar B body problem areas such as the rear glass bottom corners area and under the vinyl top at the C pillars where the rust is beginning to appear as a blister. There is surface rust on the left quarter just behind the door opening.. A couple of small holes through the right side behind the rear wheel well. Parts that I have changed since my possession include a complete front suspension rebuild, including upper and lower control arms, ball joints and poly urethane bushings instead of rubber. That really tightened up that late 60's technology handling. I put new seat covers and carpet in it also along with a new package tray. I removed the engine to confirm what I was skeptical about which was the low mileage of this car. I disassembled it for inspection and confirmed that the odometer was right. I reassembled the engine, painted it while it was out and reinstalled it. After returning from Columbus, Ohio I installed a new gas tank. Extras included with this car which I am unable to install nowadays are; poly urethane rear spring bushings, motor mounts, replacement right side exhaust manifold. One ears of the existing one is broken and allows it to leak a little. New torsion bar boots are included and a California Car cover and storage bag. A weeks work including coffee breaks will get the minor issues this car has taken care of. The minor issues are; a new brake master cylinder, jacking it up and removing the tires to set the brakes a little tighter (you have to pump the pedal once before you get good brakes), the steering sector leaks a little oil. The a/c needs charging. If I were asked can this car be driven home in its present condition from here in Arkansas, I would say that with better tires (It needs tires) and a can of brake fluid and a little bottle of hydraulic fluid to add now and again, yes, I would start out for 300 or 400 miles trip. Of course this vehicle is 49 years old and things wear out but it uses no oil, doesn't leak coolant and the 318 purrs like a kitten.
