1963 Dodge Polara 440

For sale is my 1963 Dodge 440. In my opinion, the 440 has the nicest trim package out of all of the 63s. 1963 440s are a rare and unique car. Dodge didn't produce very many of them (midyear trim) and a lot of them weren't save from the elements (especially eastern rust). there aren't many around. I was told by the previous owner that this car spent all of it's life in dry western states- never an eastern rust bucket. This was built to go to local shows, go to the strip, and cruise around town. I had this car built RIGHT (no corners cut and built to last).
The paint and body-Is very nice and strait and done by a professional body man. The body gaps are very nice. The paint really shines nice. You can see your reflection in the paint like a mirror. It's not a concurs 100 point restoration but it is nice enough to take to local car shows. The color is the new Dodge B5 blue also known as surf blue. There is a lot of metallic and pearls in it and its is beautiful. The front bumper has been rechromed, a lot of the trim has been polished. The rear bumper is driver quality.
The interior-
Is brand new and done with great taste. The pictures don't do it justice. It is 2 tone, white and a silver metallic color. Everything in the car was done professionally including the carpet installation. The headliner is beautiful. All the trim pieces were taken to metal, primed and painted. The vinyl dash pad that is on the passenger side is an original dodge piece that is in great shape and cost of $500.
Mechanical-
Engine: 440 was bored 30 over. with TRW 11:1 forged pistons, Eagle rods, Racer Brown hydraulic cam (.520 lift), Edelbrock RPM Performer intake, rebuilt Holley 750 double pumper, Mopar windage tray, heads have been ported to a Stage 2 for extra power by John Wolf at Mopar Madness, new springs and valves, Mopar rockers, the motor was torque plated, balanced and all clearances checked. Mopar electronic ignition, the big Hooker Headers-ceramic coded, new aluminum radiator, aluminum water pump housing, billet pulleys, and Holley electric fuel pump. I have a lot of money in it. Over $1200 in heads, $650 headers, $3500 just in shortblock. This car is making around 500 horsepower!! It sounds really mean.
The transmission was rebuilt with heavy duty bands, has deep tranny pan, BM floor shifter, and a 3500 stall torque converter.
The drive-train has less than 100 miles on it!!
Suspension: rebuilt front suspension using a Moog kit, new master cylinder, brake lines, disk brakes. It has new SS rear springs, rebuilt 4.11 Sure Grip, and 17 wheels with Goodyear RS-As. Rebuilt steering gearbox. These rear ends are going for $1500 just by themselves.
The car is really nice, fast and loud. I think it would be nearly impossible to build the car for what I am trying to sale it for. It does have a couple of needs: when I had the car painted, the body-man didn't fill the spot welds in the rear wheel housing lip-in picture. They aren't noticeable and installing wheel well moldings would cover them up. As I stated above, this car was built to go fast even though it was never races. I do have the original radio and fascia that goes with the car!
I moved to a smaller home and need to let some of my toys go. I have over $20,000 in the car. This is a good car that needs to be enjoyed.
BRAND NEW 3 inch exhaust installed pipes and mufflers was installed 4/2/18!!
I have received more compliments with this car than any other Mopar that I have owned and I have owned: Roadrunner Cuda Challenger and Super Bee.
The car has a perfect stance with the brand new SS leaf springs, 17 inch wheels and tires.
Clear title that's in my name.
2 brand new never used or mounted radial slicks will be offered at a discounted price to the winner.
I am listing this on my wife's ebay account because ebay is charging me a good sum to relist on my account. I have perfect ebay feedback. Please send me a message if you have any questions.
