The 6,000 RPM for Under $3,000 tagline was a hit and the Dodge was one of the best values a Swinger 340 Package ran you $2,800 for 275hp with heavy duty Rally suspension, firm ride shocks and dual chrome tipped exhaust, it was perfecting balanced for this small car.
The Bumblebee stripe tagged it as a Junior member of Dodge’s elite Scat Pack which included the Super Bee and Charger. It could run with the big boys knocking out quarter mile times in the mid 14's and hit 60 mph in just 6 seconds. Moving into a new era and style the 1970 broke the mold and buyers flocked to showrooms. The 1970 model year marks many changes for the Swinger, it is also the most searched year online. Not only was the Swinger redesigned in order to differentiate it from other Dodge vehicles such as the challenger, it was also modified to comply with new safety standards.
In 1970 Dodge returned to the muscle car seen with new front and rear styling, smaller power vents, the hood had two long, narrow hood scoops. Despite the introduction of the Dodge Challenger, the Dodge Dart was still extremely popular, one reason the Dart Swinger was still fast and peformance could often keep up with higher horsepower cars.

Originally sold by Dadeland Dodge in Miami Florida on 4-21-1970 to MR & MRS. Mario Garcia of Dade County, Miami. We have copies of original deposit checks and then the full payment receipt the next day, copies of Purchase orders, Original Broadcast Sheets and One of the finest early Documented Receipts Files I have ever seen…. from the very first Filter and Oil change 3 months after purchase, and tune ups then to the next owner who also serviced the vehicle at the same Dealership it was purchased from till 1977 and all in order!!! Just flipping through a few it’s interesting to see Labor rates for 1 and 2 dollars!!! Meticulously cared for and babied these docs followed the car with as much care and love as the vehicle did in their ownership.
Fast forward to about 2006 the vehicle underwent a full frame off and meticulously Rotisserie Restoration with thousands invested. Keeping to its original design style and flavor the vehicle was properly upgraded with a 360 V8, and all new hardware, a driving show winner example was the goal and its execution of the project was phenomenal!!! I can Honestly SAY you may never see a Dodge Dart of this caliber more or less have an opportunity to Buy it!! All original sheet metal and using as much of the original parts as possible everything was redone as you can see.
The overall project kept original and sleeper mentality at the forefront of the build as you’ll notice this vehicle retains and original Bench Seat and Column Shift Automatic, a few little Chromed cosmetics to the engine compartment do not take away from its original slender we have 90% original type hoses and clamps, hardware, stickers and markings as a pure Dodge Dart Swinger. Loaded with Optional including Ice Cold Air Conditioning, Power Steering and Brakes, Original AM/FM Radio and Remote Mirror, Slightly modified for normal use the Air Blows Cold its 360 V8 is quite powerful and Disc brakes up front stop well. The vehicle shifts smoothly and the sound is tame enough for driving but can expressed with a little foot pedal. The drive is smooth comfortable, it starts every time and is a Show winner example the car has won 1st place at Big Daddy Garlitz Mopar event 4 years in a row!!!
