To summarize:

BODY/INTERIOR

·New top, pump/motor, cables – everything. There is a snap on boot cover but has a small tear in it.

·Repaint in ivory (1964 MoPar color) / black trim. Body shop lost a small piece of exterior trim (tip of chrome spear/front). Small flaw in hood. Has larger side view on driver’s side, original round one in trunk, and an additional large one if desired for passenger side.

·Odometer is 46K.The steering wheel has some wear. Carpet and dash pad were replaced in the past. Upholstery/seats and door panels all good. Golden Anniversary horn button not present – is a blank one.

·New rubber items: wiper blades, trunk/hood gaskets and a few other rubber trim parts, also new windlace. Original trunk mat and jack.

ENGINE/MECHANICAL

·Later slant 6 checked out/tested, painted, sealed. New water pump, timing gears, thermostat, gaskets. Fitted w/ period correct carburetor, and accelerator linkage. New plugs - plug wires were ok.. Engine and radiator painted, Found it started and ran better w/ manual choke but still full choke needed for cold starts. Has small electric helper fuel pump ½ way back that makes a little ticking sound. A bit of exhaust from manifold, less when hot.

·Drive shaft cleaned; repainted; new u-joint

·Tach and temp gauge added although dash temp gauge is accurate. Speedometer holds rock steady. Inaccurate original gas sending unit replaced with a new one that is no better, reading low.

·Converted from PB auto to 3/tree – which came from a parts car. New clutch, inspected and refreshed transmission that did not need much, and shifts well. The incredibly light touch power steering did not need much.

·Front drum brakes had been totally redone just before buying, and are high and firm. All brake lines and master cylinder inspected. Rear brakes inspected and adjusted.

ELECTRICAL

·Added headlight warning buzzer, 4 way flashers; intermittent items ++(after 50 years) horn, windshield washer replaced w/new.

·Rebuilt AM radio, new antenna with early 70s FM converter,

·Then the usual new tires, battery, and new oil and coolant very recently changed.

·Has service manual and owner’s manual. Several sets of keys.

·This project was all about a stock driving experience; nothing was done with performance/handling enhancements that many of these cars got.

·Understand that this is a pre-muscle car era vehicle, no power shifting here, etc. —it’s a leisurely, top-down cruiser.

This was a fun and worthwhile project but it is time to let someone else really get this around out on the back roads. I am in a dense inner suburb and just do not have/will never have the environment for top-down driving for long periods in an open area as I would like.
