1987 DODGE RAMCHARGER, OUTSTANDING CONDITION

1987 Dodge Ramcharger Deluxe

This auction is for what is probably one of the cleanest Ramcharger anywhere. I was looking for a vehicle to keep at my vacation property. Something that was 4WD and I could use to pull my boat, I had a friend who had this Ramcharger and he said he would sell it to me. It ran well but the paint was faded and the interior had seen better days, so I decided to go through the whole vehicle.
Mechanically the engine ran well but we did a full tune-up with all new plugs, cap and wires. We installed all new hoses (water and fuel) as well as belts and water pump. The radiator was pulled and checked by a local radiator shop, and all the air conditioning lines and dryers were replaced. It was also converted to R134 Freon and and it blows very cold.
The transmission was flushed and all new fluid and filter were installed. Both rears were opened up rinsed out with new gear oil as well as the bearings removed inspected and reinstalled. All the brakes are new, rotors, calibers, pads/shoes, drums, hardware, and cables as well as the master cylinder and all the brake lines. We also installed new power steering hoses and shocks all around. I then had a local custom exhaust shop make all new stainless steel duel exhaust from the manifolds exiting out below the rear bumper.
The body was in very good shape with only two small spots of rust showing just in front of the rear wheels. These areas were cut out and replaced with new metal. All the exterior trim was removed and sent out to be polished and the body was sanded and repainted the original colors with base coat and House of Colors clear coat. The paint job has no flaws and is really a show quality job. All the door regulators were removed as well as the latches. They were then cleaned and everything replaced with all new window and door seals. The windshield was also replaced with a new tinted version and a new seal used there also. Also at this time the doors were removed and all the jams painted and then reinstalled with rebuilt hinges. Also at this time the engine compartment was repainted and detailed. The full undercarriage was also cleaned sanded and then painted with the under body then undercoated. I also restored the original wheels and installed new Firestone Destination tires on them. I believe they have only around 1,500 miles on them. I have the original center caps also. They could use replated, I just didn't have them done. I personally like the look of the wheels without them.
We then started on the interior. The buckets seats were reupholster with original materiel. While the interior was out the entire floor was covered with sound deadening material as well as some being placed on the interior roof and inside the doors. We then installed all new deluxe carpet as well as having the headliner redone. The dash pad is in perfect condition and we removed the dash and cluster and cleaned everything and installed all new bulbs in it. Everything thing works as new inside. It has an retains it's original Am Fm radio with cassette player .
As I stated earlier this vehicle is in outstanding condition, and that is the reason I am selling it. It came out so nice and admittedly I went over board doing it over for what I needed. Once completed I couldn't bring myself to leave it sit out at my mountain place. Everything works like new and I wouldn't be afraid to hop in it and drive it anywhere.
It is truly ready for for what ever the new buyer would want to do it. It is done to a quality where you can be very proud of it at any show, or it is ready to drive and use. It would be neat to have a matching color boat or trailer to tow behind it. You will not be disappointed in this vehicle. It gets attention wherever it goes.
