Description:

1970 Dodge Challenger

Hi here is my 1970 Challenger Convertible `N` Code 383 Big Block NUMBERS MATCHING ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION. Car comes loaded with options Power Top, ower Locks, ower Windows, ower Steering, eavy Duty Suspension, ig 11-Inch Drum Brakes, lap Stick, ir, -Track, allye gauges, pecial handling Car. (All documented on the original build sheet). Basically the car is a base challenger optioned out like an RT. Factory FE5 Rallye Red with Red Interior and White Top. Car was purchased in Dallas Texas by the believed to be second owner and was sold by the second owner to the third owner with 51K miles in 1998. The third owner had it in Florida for a year then moved back to Tucson where it remained till 2010 when I purchased it with 71K miles. The engine is all stock and has never been rebuilt. The second owner repainted the car and restored the interior with a Legendary Interior as well as a new NOS top in the 1997 and 1998 time frame. The dash was redone by Just Dashes as well as the original interior rear panels. Since I have had the car I have been collecting NOS parts for the possibility of a concours resto someday. NOS parts I have are: Complete Grille Assembly, arker Lenses, eft Tail Light Assembly, ack up Lense, ood molding, runklid and quarter panel molding as well as various other parts totaling more than $7,000.00. I will let these go with the Challenger for extra cost to the buyer if they are interested. The build sheet also has an "S" before the order number and "Code Y76" which according to internet sites and people I have spoken to the Challenger was an Ordered Car sold to a "Chrysler Preferred Customer" Gelco Leasing out of Phoenix Arizona which later became GE Capital. It is unlikely that a loaded car like mine was leased out and may have been for a Gelco executive and probably why it is so well preserved over all these years.
Overall the paint is about a 7 to 7.5 out of 10. Still has a nice shine, he odd chip on the door edges and trunk lid but no dents. (I am a very particular guy). To some they may think it is an 8 to 8.5. The car holds its own at cruise nights and car shows. IAs a very particular guy I would rate it as a really really nice driver (the cleanest there is). Some would rate it higher. The interior is in very nice condition and the original glass is too with only minorwindshieldscuff from the wiper arm which all these Challengers have. The original grille is very nice with one minor ding (hardly noticeable). I had the bumpers rechromed in 2012 and added NOS bumper guards because I like the look. The pics are current. I have added Wheel Vintiques 15 inch Rallyes with NOS Sombrero Center Caps and rings, ew Good Year tires and a white body line non-RT stripe (The Challenger came from the factory with a white stripe but I believe they were more narrow than the R/T type stripe). The chrome valve covers were on the car when I bought it. I have the original blue steel painted valve covers for it.
Overall the body is rustfree, ry and solid with all of its original panels. Still has the factory marking on the rear end and paint dab on the cowl near the master cylinder. There are a couple minor spots on the lower rocker just in front of the rear tires probably where water sits as convertibles pipe the water to this area to drain. You really have to get down on your hands and knees to even see this. The car had a small bump in the drivers rear tail light area at some point in its life. You have to look inside the trunk past the tail light to even notice it.
My Challenger is a really nice original big block numbers matching Convertible that will be a solid investment and a car you can cruise and take to the shows to enjoy. It is ready to go to a new home. For those interested I have the buildsheet scanned and can email it to you. Check out the production numbers it is rarer than 1970 R/T 440 and Hemi cars. Selling only because I wish to buy a 2016 Hellcat.
The car is located in Bolton, ntario, anada. I can assist with shipping etc as I have done it a few times cross border. I would recommend coming to see the Challenger in person to truly appreciate howsolidand original it is. It will hold its own at any cruise night and get you thumbs up wherever you go. 647-828-1374 Todd
