1968 Dodge Charger

1968 Dodge Charger Base that is showing R/T trim. This car is an amazing Mopar. It stands out among even the nicest Mopars. When the car is around and the hood is up the crowd moves away from the other cars and forms around this Charger. It has what ever "it" is. I have really enjoyed building car and driving it. Even though it has high performance organs it is very reliable. The only trouble I have had since restoration completion 3-4 years ago is a voltage regulator. Stumped me and I had to seek help to figure it out. Well. it has a one wire alternator in it now and has no further need of a voltage regulator on fire wall. It is built into alternator and works great. I don't think it would be a surprise to say this car is fast ! I live in country and we have straight long stretches with nothing around. It will make the hair stand up on your body if that is what you want. It is just as fun to cruse around town in as well. That is why I have enjoyed this car so much. I have owned stock survivor cars and love them. They are 40 year old time capsules that are more fragile in general and in most cases "tired". I have put a tone of money in some of them and then I am afraid to drive them. This car seems to have best of both worlds. It is a Charger ! It does not just sound tough. It is !Body:New Quarters. driver side floor pan. trunk. wheel house (both sides). extensions. No frame work needed. Done before I purchased car. Charger taken all the way down. Very straight and body lines are excellent. I have restored many cars over the years. I blocked out car and painted myself. Paint is show quality (extremely nice). It is not a perfect # 1 show car though. It has a couple of small scratches smaller than pinky nail. Very Very nice but again not a #1 show car. I drive it. Engine bay is fully detailed as you can see in picsInterior is very nice with new headliner. carpet. glass. and front seat covers. Dash is very nice but not restored. TicToc-Tac does not work but rest of the gauges work great . New door panels on inside. New Vinyl Top. Perfect and is amazing !Engine:451 Stroker (1977 400 Block/low deck) Professionally built by Chuck Lofgren (Winner of Mopar Collector Guide engine build off first year they did it). 492 H. P @ 5200 RPM. Torque 532 F. P. @ 4200 RPM. Head Gasket Bore 4. 410. Bore 4. 380 with Stroke of 3. 750". Compression ratio is 10 to 1 (Use high octane pump gas). Holly 750 carb. Valve size 2. 20 x 1. 81. Valve Spring 924c. c. . Port flow intake 270@0. 500 and Exhaust 221@0. 500Have all receipts and dino work with breakdown. See pics for some of them as example. Thermal cleaned block. Square deck w/BHJ. Cylinder walls have been sonic tested. Bore and hone with Plates. 3-angle comp valve job. Port work alone was $400. 00. Cam bearings SH-8765 Clevite. main bearings MS876p Clevite. Crankshaft 440 Chry. Camshaft 21-225-4 Comp Cams. Timing chain set G6603 Dyna Gear. Rod bolts 145-6002 ARP. Rod bearings CB-S270 Clevite. Pistons/pins 99494 Ross. Rings RS-9798-35 C&A. Pump shaft IS63 Melling. Smith Bros Pushrods. Crane Rocker Arms 64770-16. Speed Pro Rocker Shafts. Edelbrock Intake Manifold 7186. MSD Ignition with 6AL Box located in car and not engine bay (cool !). Much more but too much to list. Have all receipts. Dyno work. and Port flow Data ! Transmission:Hemi 18-Spline A-833 completely rebuilt by Lofgren Auto listed above. Have all parts listed in rebuild and receipts. $2. 19. 00 spent on Hemi 4-speed. McLeod Flywheel and Duel Disc Clutch P4529485Lakewood Scatter Shield Drive shaft:Custom made drive shaft by Minnesota Drive Line (Very Nice !)Rear End:1969 Dana 60 (posi-trac) with 4. 10 Gears Professionally rebuilt with all new components by Lofgren Auto Specialties listed above. Have all receipts. Dana has been sanded and painted and cleared. Looks very nice ! B Body Super Stock Springs Car needs Caltracs Traction Bars in my opinion. If car does not sell. I am going to put them on to prevent rear end from winding up. Fuel:Mega Flow Fuel Pump With Filter MP-4650 : Good up to 1. 00 H. P +Mega Flow Duel Relay MP-1050: located in trunk Fuel goes from modified stock tank (sump added) to filter/pump (Mega Flow Pump with Filter) then to second in line filter on rail to Barry Grant Fuel Regulator ( about 22 pounds from pump and regulated down to 6. 5-7 lbs at Holley). There is also a return/bypass line back to tank for any unused fuel. If you don't understand that is okay. It is DONE right and looks very cool and intimidating !Exhaust:Hooker Super Comp (2 piece) Ceramic Coated Headers with Scavenger flange added for breathers. All factory welds have been gone over with extra welds to assure they will never separate. Guy that did welding on them is amazing. He is a true artist. Done before ceramic coating. Looks amazing !Mega Flow 3" Exhaust that dumps at rear end. Very deep and impressive sound. What is needed: Windshield wiper fluid and motor. Motor is new and I think it is a ground/switch. Never addressed heat/vent mechanisms in car. Drive with windows down. Brakes are drums and they are not the best. Have to pump them to get them to come in. Makes for an interesting ride. I live in country so I have been fine with it. This would be first thing I would replace. TicToc-Tac repair and rear seatbeltsI was not sure if I wanted to keep counsel in car so I did not put brackets in. I really like the counsel in and it works just fine and really does not move around so I just left as is. Dent on bottom of driver side rocker. Can't see unless you look under car. See pic of Rocker close up with car on lift. All of the above is simple stuff and if it were done I would not take less than 45K for car. If you look at what is out there in this range I think you would agree. It may be worth more. Why am I potentially selling ? I have a Daytona clone I want to finish and 4 more Mopars behind that. If you are a car enthusiast I think you will understand. This is opportunity to buy a car right. With very little put in it would jump about 30% in my humble opinion. I DO NOT have to sell so please no low ball stuff. Please do not bid on car unless you have the money. Not interested in Jerry Springer stuff. please. Thanks for taking the time to look !
