By VIN this is the earliest known, 1965 Dart Charger 273 in excellent condition. Only a few exist of 180 Dart Chargers built at the L.A. factory. Only a handful have been restored. This car is on the cover of Collectible Automobile, April 2016 issue in which these rare, Dart Charger 273's are valued to $45,000. Other recent stories of these little-known but increasingly popular cars can be found in and on the covers of the November, 2015 Mopar Collector's Magazine and in the January, 2015 Mopar Action magazine (as well as on uTube). This car won 1st Place early A Body (in its first entry) at Mopar Spring Fling 2015 in Van Nuys, California. Restoration included paint, interior, engine, transmission, steering and front end, and updated wheels with original hubs and badges. Work was completed in 1997. The four barrel engine was originally rated at 235 HP, and cars with Doug Thorley headers were rated at 275 in the day. This car has been garage kept and driven sparingly since restoration. Engine breathes through Doug Thorely headers (optional in 1965 through Chrysler racing) and runs with an Offenhauser intake (with recent upgrade to OEM style exhaust not shown in photos) and an electric-choke Carter carb (original manifold and original Carter carb are included in sale). Car has a 904 transmission shifted on floor, power steering and power brakes. Vinyl top shows some wear but original. Cragar wheels may need rechroming. Restoration paint job still beautiful if not perfect. Receipts for restoration and photos before restoration included with sale. Car has been owned since 1988 and was bought from second owner in Santa Maria California. Seller open to inspection of car by buyer. PayPal deposit of $500.00.
