1963 Dodge Dart

Now...before you get too excited, this car doesn't quite exist, exactly. 4 door convertible???!! How could that be? Here's the story: I've owned this thing forever and a day, since before it was "classic". It was just cheap reliable transportation back in the day when I was younger. I mostly used it as summer only during the 90's, kept it in the barn in winters ( I had a beautiful 67 Dart at the time for a "winter beater"). About 15 years ago I was hopped up on coffee and decided one weekend to cut the top off and make a poor man's convertible. I filled in/covered the jagged spots with long-strand body filler and sheet metal. We added a roll bar behind the driver bench for door stability. The rest is history. We mostly drive it short trips... back roads to the lake, grandma's camp etc..The thing just won't die!! I keep waiting, but no...it just goes and goes..Slant six starts right up. push button auto on dash. Runs and drives great. This would not be a safe car in a collision, however. Please understand what you are buying here. If you're a kid looking to drive the interstate to College, this is not a good choice for you! Get yourself a Hyundai or a Kia or some damn thing like that, or a 2016 Dodge Dart for that matter.Ideally this car would be for parts (great drivetrain), for parade float use, or back road cruising for crazy old guys like me. Part it out on ebay and make some money. I'm too busy. Buyer responsible for determining the legality and inspectabilty of the vehicle per local laws. Seller makes no claims for this being roadworthy in the real world. I do know a guy who will put a VT sticker on it. It is currently registered as a convertible with VT DMV. Probably the best thing to do would be register it as a "custom" vehicle. I've often wondered if it could be turned into a "real" car again through superior welding attempts (for example, weld the doors closed?! Weld rails underneath, or weld a custom frame for a cloth top. No top included in sale). I almost just filled it with topsoil and planted flowers in it in the driveway. But it runs too nice for that. It's a fun car with a lot of potential/value in the right hands. Will need tires, they are old and one has minor damage to the tread. But they do hold air and roll quite smoothly. Brakes work, but just barely. Need pumping. Master is leaking, needs constant pumping and topping off. Wheel cylinders are probably shot too. I've actually been driving it like this for the past few summers. They work, but need replacing. Happily, the emergency brake does work too! Overall body is solid. It was a "down country" car (Connecticut?) originally, and I have mostly driven it summers only in VT since I've owned it. paint is just sprayed on Rustoleum, but looks decent. Headlight bezzles are not installed. One is bunged-up, but I think I have them around here somewhere.I do not have a title for this car. This is a bill of sale only. Vt does not issue titles on vintage vehicles over 25 years old. There is a form/mechanism for titling it in other states if needed. Can deliver within 200 miles or so for a small fee.
