1949 Dodge Truck/Dump Truck

Here is another good ol' truck we rescued from a farm here in Kansas. It is a 1949 Dodge, I believe it is a 1 1/2 ton, and I am selling it at no reserve.

This truck was still in use until a couple of years ago, and the gentleman I purchased it from said it was overhauled shortly before he parked it. I have no way to verify this, but these aren't the type of people who generally lie about things. Anyway - It does start very easily, runs and idles smooth, and shifts well through all the gears. It does smell like old gas, and I'm sure the carb could use adjustment/cleaning, etc., but runs well the way it is. It carries good oil pressure also. The farmer quit using it because the brakes went out. We looked at it and it appears it is just the line between the master cylinder and the brake booster, but after sitting it may need a wheel cylinder or two, I don't know. The truck does have a good parking break. The bed is a hydraulic dump bed and it works, although the cable is a little stiff. Overall the body is fairly straight for an old farm truck, no big rust holes anywhere, although the passenger side floorboard has some pitting in it. All the gauges work except the fuel gauge, and a secondary temp gauge. I don't know why it is there, because the one in the cluster works. This truck does have three highly sought after and rare options for a '49 model. Power seats out of a 70's LTD, Plexi glass side windows, and the road construction sign patching the bed sides. No I won't sell these separately - so don't ask!

It does also have a really neat old hood ornament and front emblems that are in excellent shape. I also do have a clean, open Kansas title for this truck. I sell quite a few of these old trucks so I guess I know what to expect with them, although I listed everything I know of, you can always expect a few things on these old trucks - points, condenser, spark plugs, water pump, master cylinder. These all work, but may not 2 weeks from now. Just remember it's nearly 70 years old. I try to get good pictures, and am better at answering questions via text or phone call. My name is Cort 620-786-5172. I have 100% positive feedback, so bid with confidence, just make sure you ask any questions prior to bidding. I am easy to work with on storage, as long as paid for in a timely manner. This truck will need a battery, but I have one we can use for loading, or if you are sending a transport, for the price of a 6volt battery (approx. 75.00) I will put a brand new one in for you. If you are hauling this yourself, it will easily fit on a 16ft car trailer, as this is what I hauled it on. Thank you and good luck.
