Engine Swap only has about 2500 VERY Enjoyable miles on it. I chose to use the 3S0GTE turbo motor for a good balance of appropriate power and useability. The motor produces about 220hp, will not overtax the transmission and nearly double the engine output. The motor has performance injectors and cold air intake. Maintainance is very easy and a DIY owner will have much enjoyment getting more HP out of it. The boost is turned down to a useable amount but have been told that it can be cranked up to put out closer to 275hp. This is the sort of motor that should have been in the car, very Lotus like. The newer Deloreans actually do have a Toyota motor in them, same one out of the Lotus Evora if I recall correctly. This was a very expensive labor intensive process, but everything was kept as to be able to return it back to stock OEM. Again the original motor will go with the car, it is on a pallet and can be shipped at buyers expense or picked up with the transporter. Over $11k in motor, labor, mapping, and setup was done on this Swap.
Interior is presentable but entirely original and untouched.
Undercarriage is immaculate. No scrapes or bottoming out. NO RUST. Solid Rockers and underside. Suspension was sorted and rubber bushings done. Sway bars added to front and rear for better handling!
Photos taken 1/25/2019 at home, started right up out of the garage. It has a louder sportscar sound (Turbo Toyota with Dual Magnaflow exhaust), revs quickly and the turbo spool comes on around 3500RPM. AC works and blows cold, Clutch shifts well, rebuilt master and slave when the swap was done. Brakes were done at same time as well.
LOTS OF $$ INVESTED IN THIS CAR!! Looks OEM, but delivers on the power and the engine sound you always wanted! PLUS A 5 SPEED!!
This car is very reliable with this motor, not overdone with an LS1 engine or some crazy HP that leads to engine issues or reliability problems with the OEM electronics and FI system. THIS engine and setup was chosen after MANY MANY HOURS of deliberating and deciding on different engine choices. This was not a spur of the moment, oh heres a motor lets put it in type of deal. NO! THE RIGHT HP FOR THE RIGHT CAR FOR DAILY USE OR TO TURN UP THE BOOST ON OR THE NEW OWNER CAN DECIDE TO UPGRADE IT FURTHER!
LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS OF FUN! GIUGARO DESIGN WITH JDM PERFORMANCE AND FUN (AND RELIABILITY)!
Prepare to be noticed and get lots of attention in this car. It always gets smiles and questions. Certainly been fun owning her and her sister (See my other auction for the factory OEM DMC12), but a new opportunity has come up and I am selling to pursue it.
Auction is No Reserve so will sell to the high bidder. All sales final, no warranties implied or given. International bidders welcome, can help with shipping. Non Refundable deposit.
