Description:

1973 Datsun Z-Series

This 1973 Datsun 240Z is a stockSeries 2 driver that retains its matching-numbers 2.4L inline-six, which is backed by it original 4-speed manualtransmission. It can be described as a largely original survivor, this car was purchased new in Texas and brought into Colorado in the last couple years. The car has received sparing but regular use throughout its life, and the odometer is now showing 60k original miles that can be backed up by overal condition. Modifications include twin Weber carburetors and an aftermarket tape deck, but the car is sold with its original carburetors and functional emissions equipment.
Brown paint is original and wearsa nice overall gloss, but the car also wears its decades of chips, dings, and other blemishes as photographed throughout.Dealer-installed rear window louvers, side moldings, and 14″ mag wheels remain present.
This walk-around video includes tours of the exterior, interior, and engine bay as well as footage of the engine at idle and demonstration of interior features.Damage to lower wheel arches was largely caused by extended exposure to Texas gravel roads, and anyone who lived in rural Texas and drove the roads back in the 70-80's and even to present day will be familiar with this type of wear. The Rocker panels, hatch edges, and other common trouble spots are photographed in detail below, and are in Original and Awesome Shape.
The original Tan vinyl upholstery includes marbled inserts, and the rest of the interior pieces like the door and side panels as well as the front carpets are original to the car. Functional gauges are shown in the video, and the switchgear and trim is photographed in detail below. A half dash cover has been installed over the original dash, and all the Accessories work as they should, including the1980s tape deck and dealer-installed air conditioning system.
The2.4L inline-six wears a number stamp matching that on the chassis ID tag and is paired with a 4-speed manualtransmission.Dual Weber downdraft carburetors have replaced the original flat-topped Hitachis, which are also included in the sale as are the factoryintake, air cleaner, andemissions equipment.

The car runs and drives very well as shown in the video below, which shows varying speeds on surface streets and highways without a shimmy or wobble at 80mph.This True Survivor car is a true time capsule and would be a shame to tear down and restore, so I figured I would offer this car as it is before it is torn down and completely refreshed as I am doing with the rest of my 240z restoration cars, so don't miss out on a very unique and Untouched introductory priced example of a car that is very rapidly gaining in value. Just buy, drive, and enjoy this one, because it is a very respectable and clean car that someone should be proud to own, because they are only original and untouched once

This car still has its original weatherstripping short of the windshield rubber due to a windshield replacement in the past, but it still has all of it Dealer Add On items in their original condition, and it has a fully functional AC/Heating system, so this car is ready to go.. I cannot stress how solid this car is, and I have hundreds of more pictures I could post, but I think ebay wouldn't like it, and it will take me hours to convert the files.. Please feel free to contact me via email Iamtheonlyreal1 at Yahoo if you need anything specific, but this car is a remarkable time capsule that should be enjoyed versus restored, but if any of you heavy Rust area buyers want a great car to start a restoration project with, it does not get much better than this car.
