1972 Citroën AX D Special

1972 Citroen DS Special, made in France, spent its life in Germany

This car was sold new and used inGermanyas a family daily driver until 2012 when its previous owner moved toFlorida. The car was placed in a container with the rest of the family's belongings for the overseas transfer but was not secured properly, causing front lower valance and rear bumper damage visible on pictures. The front bumped against furniture during rolling wave action and is not damaged much. The rear bumped against the metal door of the Conex and shows more work needed.

  • 4 speed manual gearbox, Front wheel drive
  • Front disk brakes, rear drums
  • Adjustable height hydro pneumatic 4 wheel independent suspension
  • Smooth, comfortable ride
  • Power steering
  • Power brakes
  • High power hydraulic pump drives suspension, steering and brakes, green LHM fluid.

  • Aluminum hood
  • Turning headlights with steering

The good:

  • Engine runs well and does not overheat, hydraulic system sorted out and operates well
  • New seat covers installed, new door panels and new model-specific carpet from France installed.
  • All lights work
  • New tires on front wheels (30 miles added since new), newer tires on rear wheels (2014, few in-town miles since then)
  • New battery
  • New OEM air filter
  • New brake disks included
  • Full spare tire with tools
  • Sound/heat pad and carpet in trunk
  • Fabric car cover included

This is a unique car in the automobile history and revolutionary when it came out in 1955. Unbelievable smooth ride and easy to drive. One of Jay Leno's favorite car (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzW_ERSgFRY).
