[isdntekvideo] Like no other and in a class of its own, this creation is simply hypnotizing. It's European design is accommodating to all that have the privilege to cross its path. Filled with so many amazing features -such as
the famous hydropneumatic suspension system.
Yes this is one of those cars that will drive on 3 wheels. Also it comes equipped with self returning steering, adjustable ride height, auto leveling, front emergency brakes, The brake pedal only travels about 1 inch. More of a button really, central locking, center console radio, single spoke wheel, sun roof, rear side sun visors.
For those that desire to be truly unique, and want to live a life of adventure - Feast your eyes upon the extravagant Citroen CX.
This fine example was built in France. Then retrofitted by CXA in Holland ( To Comply with US Vehicle Standards of the Time).
The CX was sold primarily in 3 different body styles (sedan, prestige, and station wagon). The prestige is the top of line, in sheer size, luxury and comfort. The rear windows are 3 foot long!
It is the kind of car a foreign dignitary steps out of at the airport.
Le voiture was purchased in Seattle, Washington and was transported here to Virginia in June of 2016.
At that time, this automobile was in driving condition but needed a little tender love and care. The car was, and still remains a dependable daily driver.
It starts right up, and just goes. Great on gas, and burns no oil!
We drive the car several times a week. Mainly just going to the hardware store, or for small errands. Often it can be seen lurking in the local Walmart parking lot. She hauls a lot of grocery's!
Though it is truly best enjoyed wafting down the highway, the farther the better. One looks forward for long interstate travel with this thing.
Recently it embarked on a 300 mile round trip to gather other obscure car parts. The CX did just fine.
With the proper maintenance, and care- it is really easy to live with. I'll be happy to give a short training course on how the hydraulics work to any that are interested. Pretty simple stuff...
The interior is a tufted leather, and still very supple to the touch. Rarely anyone sits in the comically over sized rear seats, so they look really nice.
A bit of wear can be seen on the front seats(creasing). The wood was recently redone, and really pops in the sunlight.
Like all great machines, minor improvements are sometimes needed . The following list contains the items addressed in the past year of ownership. These items were not necessarily required, but requested by the car. One night it spoke to me saying " Please Make Me Beautiful, Dependable, and Strong Again". With that said the following is what it truly wanted:
New Webasto Sunroof
Bosch Fuel Pump
Bosch Fuel Regulator
Fuel Injectors, Professionally Cleaned & Resealed
New Valeo ignition coils
New Crank sensor
Bougie Cord sprakplug wires
Plugs
Brake hoses, Pads
Front suspension hydraulic boots
Front Spheres & Accumulator( have new set for rear in box)
LHM fluid system flush
Belts
Misc. Gaskets
Misc. maintenance
All motor & transmission mounts
Silicone intake hoses
Rebuilt Wiper motor, wipers
AC charge
Now for the nit picky stuff. Since it is a 30 year old Exotic French car, a few things could be addressed:
*(Please note- Previous Oregon title did not have mileage listed).

Most notable is the condition of the front bumper corner( it is just plastic) This is how I bought it.
The paint holds a natural high gloss, though it has numerous nicks, chips dings
It stops very well. At times the front brakes squeak(pads are new). Just annoying..
The dash clear plastic has a crack, in the middle.
The tires have plenty of tread left, but are gently flat spotted(previous owner rarely drove car). I take it every where!
Above the drivers sun visor, a red velcro type material is over a tear in the headlinder. You will never notice it, unless you look up with sun visor down.
I recommend down the road to change out the radiator hoses( simply because they are 30 years old) NOS hoses come with car. At the moment they are fine.
It has a 3 speed automatic transmission. From time to time-from idle / sitting in gear for extended periods- it will take off in 2nd gear. This is mainly due to an adjustment of a cable/ linkage at the the engine. It is super sensitive to adjustment. I haven't really messed with it.
We take the car everywhere, and this shifting thing has never kept us from traveling in it. I never think about it while driving. So in other words, not a serious issue.
Lastly it has a smidgen of rust in the rear bumper bracket area. The car is stored indoors, and the rust has not progressed.
I put all of this here to simply "Let you know, what I know".
Often the scariest things, are the unknown!
The car comes with numerous receipts, owners, and extensive service manuals, parts books, misc gaskets, spheres, hoses.
It is located in Maurertown, VA 22644
Free delivery within 100 miles of 22644
There is a $500.00 deposit due within 24 hours of listing ending. Remaining balance due within 1 week of listing ending. I can be quite flexible on a pickup time, if payed in full(feel free to ask).
Please be sure to ask any, and all questions up front. Makes it much easier for everyone!
It can be driven, hauled, or transported( all of which is up to buyer).
It is very possible I would take another screwy car in partial trade for the CX. Never say never!

If your curious, the car does have a full size spare(steel). I keep it in the trunk. A few fun facts:
It is near 16 feet long-
Has 14 inch wheels( not the TRX type) so VERY easy, and affordable to find tires-
The engine oil level always stays the same.
The oil filter is a screw on type, buried way up on the back side of the engine-
It has a braking sphere separate( not sure if euro models had this)-
Has a new Bosch AAV valve-
Of course new air & fuel filter-
When I had the valve cover, and timing cover off to replace the gaskets. The inside of the engine is squeaky clean, and looks new.
It is a cam in block engine.
When on the interstate, you can get upwards of 30 mpg.
The back window glass is curved, so no wiper is needed.

Had the car out last night, put about 60 miles on -floating down the interstate.
If I could describe the feeling with one word- " Effortless"
