1971 Citroën D Super
Either you know you want one of these ecclectic and economical French cars already, or you are exploring possibilities of owning a collectible car with style, grace, and economy. This double date classic sips fuel and has ample power to run well over 80mph, keeping up with traffic, while riding on a clou, and looking good doing just that. This is a euopean version d-Super with the glass covered headlights and the headlights tilt up and down according to the car height. Remember these cars have a fairly simple hydraulic system that allows you to set the road height while driving. It also assists the power steering and brakes. The brakes are AMAZING on these cars, as well as the kind of ride, that makes you feel more relaxed when you arrive at a destination, than before you left. The attention you get driving this car is short of amazing, and showing off the height adjustment and lowering and raising the car is true showmanship!!!! The rear fenders come off with one bolt to access the rear wheels! The more mocern radio and the addition of air conditioning, raise the enjoyment level even higher......... This D-Super starts almost immediately with the addition of an electric fuel pump, runs super strong and cool. The 5 speed transmission with the shifter on the steering column is another novelty that also helps reduce wear and reduce gas mileage. The front brakes have nearly new brake pads, and the water pump has maybe 1000 miles on it. This Citreon was driven from Texas to New York a few years ago for an International French car weekend of car shows and rallyes and parties. The tires also only have a few thousand miles on them The reluctant seller of this car is maturing, and has sold off most of his collection, keeping this car til the end as one of his favorites. He is not selling his Jaguar XKE. I have maintained this car for 10 years. All the oils have been changed, and three of the five hydraulic spheres have just been replaced. They are under $100 each new and change out in less than an hour each! This car is ready for a new owner. The cosmetics are nice enough without being a perfect closet queen that never comes out for fear of a chip. You can drive this one to dinner and carshows without paranoia. Just be ready for lots of questions wherever you go!!!!!!!!!! 1971 Citroen DSuper DS20 (ID20) wikipedia.org/wiki/Citro%C3%ABn_DS This car is great on gas and drives smoother than a Cadillac; this is your opportunity to have the best of both worlds in a very unique package that will turn heads wherever you decide to go. Citroen was way ahead of its time when they started production of the DS paying close attention to aero dynamics and incorporating the use of a high pressure hydraulic system that gives the car a ride that's as smooth as any modern luxury vehicle. This hydraulic system drives the suspension, steering and brakes. These cars are known for having reliable engines and being the family sedan that can go anywhere! This particular car has had a partial restoration. The paint is in good driver condition with minor flaws, the roof is fiberglass and has some gelcoat cracking. I would cover it with a stainless looking wrap, problem fixed. Mechanically the car is in great shape. It has been retrofitted with a custom air conditioning system that needs freon added once a year like most old cars. The interior has been re-upholstered and looks great! There's a nice set of Coker redline tires on the ground. it will meed a new spare tire. Extra gauges were added instead of relying on idiot lights. This D-Super is smooth and elegant on the highway!
