1950 Chrysler Imperial

Very original old luxury car, his was Chrysler's top of the line auto in 1950, ompeting with the Cadillac and Lincoln. This one has been pampered and appreciated since new, nd pretty much looks like you might imagine it would have looked in 1955 or so after being used as the lead-off sedan for a prominent family - maybe even Truman or Ike. It has never had any rust, as no indication of ever being wrecked or damaged, ave for a small dent in the RR door. The correct stamped number straight 8 engine still runs strong and smooth, moke and blowby free. The Prestomatic transmission shifts flawlessly, nd you can easily run with the traffic on the freeway. The paint is just so-so, aving cracks and imperfections in numerous places. From 20 feet or so, t looks great. I imagine most of the chrome has been replated at some point, ecause it is just too perfect. The seats have been recovered with the correct material years ago and still look good but have some stains. The carpet is about the same, ut is ugly on the passenger's side - maybe the heater core leaked at some point - but it is hidden by the floor mat. The headliner and dash are nearly perfect. All gauges, ights, eater, rakes work correctly. The clock and radio do not. This is a great car to use as it is, r would be the ideal car to begin with for a like-new restoration. Paint, arpet, nd upholstery are all it would need. There would be none of the searching for difficult to find, ear-show quality dash and trim parts. These are in amazing condition. Even the steering wheel is nearly perfect. The RR power window should be an easy fix. I have 2 operators - one dead and one weak. I think the motor needs rebuilding, s it just can't quite power it to move all the way.Contact me for details, nd I will accurately describe everything I know. Comes with manuals and extra parts.
