1961 Chrysler Imperial

About this vehicleThis 1961 Chrysler Imperial is an original. The owner has had it for 3 years. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for car shows.Seller's NotesHere is a beautiful 1961 Chrysler Imperial. We restored this vehicle 2 years ago and have really enjoyed it. Its a "driver". We can pull up next to any Camaro, Chevelle, Cuda or Mustang and the crowd flocks to our car. We have enjoyed this car so much. We let people get inside the vehicle to take pictures etc. The car is painted very close to the orginal color. Same with the interior. The reason we are selling is this car is not an original ac car, and hard to enjoy down here in the Georgia heat. Also with Covid, didn't get to take to any car shows, so its just sat.If you are not familiar with the 1961 Imperial, it has electric windows, power 8 way bench seat, power antenna, rear window defrost/rear air with a push button transmission. Its powered by a stock 413ci engine.
We got the bumpers, grill housing and all side trim rechromed ($4k),
Interior:The whole interior is brand new. We got the interior covered in a new type of material thats almost puncture resistant. My interior guy said he would never attemp to sew this material again. Its extremely soft and feels very nice! The headliner is newer, and the roof we insulated in dynamat to keep heat down. All the electric windows roll up and down with no issue except the front passenger side. It stopped working about a year ago. Took motor to a place that rebuilds alternators, but he said he couldn't do that type of motor but it was rebuildable. Also the car is missing the overhead interior dome light. And the horn does not work.Trunk - The old rubberized material was stripped and new rubberized undercoat was applied. I bought extra carpet to eventually do the trunk with the carpet.
Exterior:The paint is a 8.5-9 out of 10. It is a driver, so there are some chips and nicks here in there but nothing major. Tail light lenses have been professionally restored, both side mirrors work with the knobs on the inside to adjust as needed. All headlights, blinkers, brake lights work. There is a chip in the front windshield that was professionally repaired 3 years ago and has not spread. I do have a parts car (1963 Imperial) that has a perfect windshield that will go with the purchase (you can have the entire car)
Mechanical:This car has a 413ci that cranks up every single time!!!! I do have an electric fuel pump on the car. When I bought the car, it had an electric fuel pump, so I replaced with an Edelbrock fuel pump. Brakes work and function perfect, and were completely rebuilt last year. The push button transmission works perfect. I would have no issue driving this car anywhere, I would however if attempting to ride in a parade, install an electric fan. After about 45 mins and not going over 2 mph it runs hotter than I feel comfortable with.
I looped the heater hoses to bypass the heater core because in the summer when you are driving, you could feel the heat coming in. Also the valve cover is leaking oil on the passenger side. I just noticed this the other day. I drove for the first time in a few months and saw when I returned.
The rear end got a whole new chunk last year. 3.15 ratio with a 741 case.
We converted the distributor to HEI
This car will cruise at 70-75 mph no problem and feels like you are riding on a cloud!!
This car is currently tagged and insured, and I do drive it to local grocery store etc. I do not have the title for this vehicle as Georgia does not require one, I do have the tag receipt and you will receive a Georgia bill of sale. Please do your research before bidding at your local tag office. Typically this is not an issue.
