1948 Chrysler Town & Country Chrysler, convertible, antique car, classic car

Rosner MotorSports is delighted to offer our 1948 Chrysler New Yorker Town & Country convertible. The idea for a beautiful wood body on a luxury sized Chrysler chassis came from David Wallace. Mr. Wallace was the President of Chrysler in the 1940’s and was looking for a very upscale, uxury car that would increase showroom traffic. The result is the spectacular Town & country.

The Town & Country is based on Chrysler New Yorker underpinnings. The wood body is highlighted by distinctive mahogany side panels framed in structural ash. During a three year production run, nly 8348 such cars were produced. Production was labor intensive and utilized the finest materials. This resulted in an elegant, xpensive, otor vehicle that became a symbol of wealth and prosperity.

Our Town & Country is powered by the original 324 cubic inch, nline eight cylinder “Spitfire” engine. Power is transmitted through Chrysler’s patented” Fluid Drive” transmission. The interior features original Highlander graycloth with Burgundy leather trimthat complements the Dove gray exterior body panels. Features include dual spotlights and a power top with correct boot. Our Town & Country is very nicely restored and ready to be shown, udged and driven. Priced to market at $149,990.00 please contact Bob Reilly at Rosner MotorSports 540-287-4378/ rreilly@rosnerauto.com for additional information.
