1966 Chrysler 300 Series

RELISTED! MOTIVATED SELLER!

FOR SALE:1966 Chrysler 300 2 door hard top 440 727 auto transmission ready to go to it's new home. We are listing (by request) this customers unfinished project that's been in storage now for nearly 7 years. Car has been repainted back in 2009 this bright red (with base coat/clear coat) and the top painted white with pearl added. Car's never been color sanded or buffed. Looks NICE! Originally car was light blue with white top.

This car was rescued from a local Mopar wrecking yard in 2002 with engine and transmission missing. Engine was replaced with a strong running 1972 440 4 barrel and 727 auto transmission that came out of a 70,000 mile Chrysler New Yorker. To drive the car from Vancouver Washington to our garage here in Portland Oregon, customer got new tags, so that's added good news! Car is licensed and tagged.

We replaced the carb when it got here earlier this month for assembly with a good used Edelbrock #1407 (750 cfm) carb. Has all correct kick-down throttle linkage. Original style air cleaner was added. Car comes with dual exhaust, power steering and power brakes. We removed the car's may-pops and mounted good used tires on good used chrome rims which add nicely to the shiny bling bling. All four matching tires are 235/60-14's with evenly matched tread wear. This land boat has a new fuel tank and new fuel sending unit and fuel pump. At NAMC, we sorted misc. issues out after it had sat for so long, and it took nearly 30 hours to organize and clean the massive pile of chrome trim that needed to be installed.

All door locks and the trunk lock has been replaced with the help of our locksmith down the road. As a service to the car's future, we lubed and cleaned the side door and wind wing window glass actuaries, so they roll nicely instead of being difficult with gummed up rollers. We removed the car's original seats, headliner and carpet when car arrived. Car's original production sheet is still under the rear seat coils, but too hard to read, so we didn't bother removing it. We also cleaned inside of roof and floor boards of surface rust with wire brush so we could treat the floor and headliner roof area with POR 15, a professional rust preventative sealer paint. Car's floorboards are solid.

IT'S AS BIG AS A WHALE! Car runs and drives nice! Sure is a looker! Check out the photos!

*Customer just brought over the two missing lengths of exterior trim and now he is looking for the antenna - which is SOMEWHERE in his home garage.

Why are we selling this car? This was a project that started over 10 years ago and since then life continues to be very busy and expensive... there's was just never any additional play money to finish the car - but it was SO CLOSE! It's a beautiful car and has been hidden away, simply waiting in customer's garage covered to protect it from the neighbor's cats. That's not fair to the car! Someone needs to buy it, redo the original seat upholstery, find a replacement rear package tray piece, put in a headliner and lay down new carpet and then? CRUISE THE USA! That is what this car wants to do and we want to help it do that! We want it to live in the sunshine!

We found the work files and photos from the work done a decade ago! This Chrysler 300 is looking for a new home. We've included the maximum number of photos, please send in your questions, stop in to our shop and check it out for the duration of the listing, we can go on a test drive!
