Description:

1977 Chevrolet Corvette

OK, normally would not say anything but I am really POed. In the last three weeks, have had two different people win this auction and not pay. In both cases, here was nothing I could do, or will either eBayer receive any negative feedback, arning other sellers about their tactics. eBay needs to get off their butts and do something about these deceitful bidders. I would never have had to worry about this 10 years ago but now it is commonplace and has become the rule and not the exception. The seller has no rights and everything is done to benefit the buyer. Where would eBay be without us seller?

So for one last time, will be auctioning this Corvette on eBay at NO RESERVE, ith a $2,000 starting bid.

Having said that, ake 100% sure that if you are the winning bidder, ou are prepared to follow through with the sale.

First let me say that this is not my car. I am auctioning this 1977 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray for a good friend who doesn’t do eBay. The car is located in Rockland, aine. If you would like or need more information please contact me through eBay and I will do my best to answer your questions.

I understand that there is a lot of information in my ad. I also understand that this may be boring to the person who is just looking and not buying. However, or the person who is looking to buy and spend their hard earned money, feel that there is never too much information.

As to myself, am not a dealer, ust a (65) year old kid that loves muscle cars. For my work, am now retired from managing a Correctional Facility here in Maine and had worked for the Maine Department of Corrections for (40) years. I am also a respected member of my community. I mention this so that prospective buyers will have some idea as to who they are dealing with. Also, lease check out my eBay feedback which is 100% with (1,138) transactions.

First a Little Corvette History:

Very few vehicles elicit the same kind of satisfaction as the Chevrolet Corvette. The ‘Vette is a symbol of childhood dreams and grown up triumph. The only true American Sports car, his car stands for excellence and became an icon as a high-performance and dynamic sports vehicle.

The 1968 Corvette was introduced as the new Stingray (now branded as one word versus the previous two-word Sting Ray), he C3 later became known as the “shark,” thanks to its long shape and aggressive styling. A “transitional” generation for the Corvette, his model saw some big changes from ’68 to ‘82 including a smaller block engine and less horsepower due to new regulations. By 1973, he material composition had also changed to include less traditional fiberglass and more lightweight plastic. The longest span of all the generations, his period proved the popularity of the car was still going strong—in fact, he 58,307 sales in 1979 remains the Corvette’s annual sales record.

The 1977 Corvette did receive minor changes, ut they were more about branding than styling or performance. “Sting Ray” was dropped, nd a new crossed flags badge adorned the front of the hood between the headlights as well as on the fuel filler door. Some models were released with the original orange-colored engine, ut GM was now pushing out blue-colored engines. Instruments were redesigned for better clarity, nd a new leather wrapped steering wheel was offered. Power steering became standard. A cassette player was now also offered, nd the manual shifter grew an inch, ut shifts were shorter. The car basically remained the same for this year with the only other change being the steel reinforcements being added to the hood.

Engine: Original VIN stamped L48 350ci and 180hp 4BBL engine. It has a correct Rochester Quadrajet carburetor mated to the original intake. Other than the correct alternator, ll other major engine components appear to be original to the Corvette. The engine starts and runs good with no overheating or funny noises. Refer to the photos and video

. Transmission: The transmission is the original VIN stamped Turbo 400 that shifts up and down the gears fine.

Exterior: The exterior is driver quality with some cracking and paint chips. The nose has some damage hence the nose bra that the previous owner installed. The T-tops can be removed with ease and are in good condition. The bright work is also driver quality. All glass is in good condition. Tires, ims and trim rings/caps are very good.

Interior: The interior is in good condition overall. The carpet is in good condition. The dash has no rips or tears. Door panels are in good condition as well as the console. Door locks and power windows are in good working order.

Undercarriage: The undercarriage is by no means perfect and will need some attention. The exhaust system is in good condition but should be secured higher to the body.

Electrical: I have been told that the exterior lights are in working order. The hide-away headlights do not open and close as there is an obvious vacuum issue that will need to be tracked down. The headlights do work. The wipers work when the headlights are turned on. The horn does not work. The speedometer is non-operational and needs a new speedometer cable. The tach and gauges are all functional with the exception of the fuel gauge that is pinned to the right indicating that it is grounded somewhere. The heater works. The Pioneer AM/FM/CD radio is functional.

Mechanical: The brakes appear to be new. I am unsure as to the emergency brake. The power steering is good with no issues. The suspension is OK but it is a Corvette if you know what I mean. Tires and rims are excellent. The Corvette starts, hifts and drives down the road good.

ID Photos:

I am an individual and do not claim to know everything there is to know about these cars. It is your responsibility to ensure that all of you questions or concerns are resolved prior to bidding and not after.

WINNING BIDDER DOES NOT HAVE THE OPTION TO LOOK THIS CAR OVER AFTER THE AUCTION CLOSES TO DETERMINE WHETHER OR NOT THEY WANT TO BUY. INSPECTIONS "MUST" BE DONE PRIOR TO THE CLOSE OF THE AUCTION WITH NO EXCEPTIONS.

In fairness to all, am not revealing the reserve price. If you are interested in owning this car, lease place a bid TO OWN ONLY NOT TO PASS TIME. If it does not make reserve, may contact the high bidder depending on what the highest amount was on the last bid.

There is no Maine title for this 1977 Corvette as Maine does not issue titles for vehicles that are more than (15) years old. I have sold cars all over the country as well as Canada, ngland, witzerland and Australia and have never had a problem. The car will come with a Bill-of-Sale, he Maine excise tax registration form signed over to the new owner and a copy of the Maine law regarding titles which is on a form issued by the Maine Motor Vehicle Department.

THANKS FOR READING THIS AD. GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY BIDDING.
