The car was purchased by him in 1992, riven and enjoyed, nd then meticulously restored and upgraded from front to back just 5,000 miles ago.

DESCRIPTION
During the 4th week of October in 1969, his Camaro came to life as a V8 powered, owerglide equipped machine in Cortez Silver, ith green interior and a black Vinyl top. It was equipped with power steering, ower top, nd an AM radio, ut was a heater delete car sold 1st in Oahu, I.
Sometime in the 1990, he car was shipped to Sarasota, L by a retired Military Officer, efore the last owner purchased it in 1992.
A solid, lean, nd reliable driver, he car was used as a casual Sunday driver, ar show and cruise night machine, nd led a sheltered life until the owner was struck by the bug to completely restore it, hile upgrading as many of the parts and components as he could to create a mild resto-mod that was capable of long-haul cruising as well as the local car show circuit.
After an exhausting few years of getting everything just right, he car was finally unveiled, nd has been stored indoors, arefully maintained, nd driven only about 5,000 miles. It has proven to be reliable, nd a more than capable long-haul machine for that “Route 66” trip you’ve been dreaming about taking.
The exterior refinishing portion of the car was handled by Howard and his team at A-1 in Placida, L, irst, he car was completely stripped to bare metal, edia blasted, reated with a light coating of OSPHO, nd sprayed with epoxy primer. Then, t was block sanded and hand-worked to seamless perfection before being treated to carefully sprayed DAYTONA YELLOW (69 GM) from inside out. After the black “SS” stripes were painted on the car, t was treated to a liberal amount of clear before being wet sanded and buffed to perfection.
The finish still shows phenomenally well, nd save for a handful or two truly minor blemishes like a tiny stone chip, ight scuff, r hairline mark you may find if you start crawling around on your hands and knees, t shows like it was just done.
You might not have caught it, ut the prior owner decided he liked the style of the Chevelle SS stripes that ended on the front valance, o he had them done that way instead of the typical off the hood style of the Camaro.
The finish is still glossy, lick, nd wet looking, nd gleams just as well in the streetlights glow as it does in the sun.
During the build, new cowl hood was installed and properly fit to the car, long with new front and rear spoilers, nd a new convertible top valance panel.
The monochromatic paint scheme really sets the car apart from the rest, nd you may notice that the Camaro badging was purposefully left off the car for a cleaner look.
A new front windshield was installed, o match the rest of the clean and undamaged glass on the car, long with new weather stripping, rushes, nd regulators.
All new rubber weather seals throughout the car remain clean and supple to this day, nd seal her up like King Tut’s crypt.
All of the bright work and chrome trim is in very good condition, nd looks amazing on the car.
A new custom made German Canvas top was installed after the hydraulic rams, il pump, ines, nd switchgear were replaced or renewed. It goes up and down with ease, nd has no known issues.
A new parade boot is included, nd has only been on the car a handful of times. It comes complete with its own storage bag.
Lights all function as they should, nd are in exceptional condition.
Wiring was redone throughout the car when it was completely torn apart, nd everything electrical functions as it should without issue.
Open the hood, nd you are met by a completely fresh-built 350ci V8 motor that was a bare block build done at VAMS, enice Automotive Machine Shop.
The donor block is a 4-bolt main unit that came from a 1978 Chevrolet El Camino, nd after it was completely disassembled, he block was stripped and clean, he engine was bored, ll new internals installed, nd it was tuned to run on modern pump gas with a 9:1 compression ratio.
New pistons, ings, eads, olverine cam with a slightly over stock lift, elling Hi-Volume oil pump, luminum water pump, luminum Edelbrock intake manifold, eft hand dipstick, ew starter, lugs, lug wires, otor, allory ignition system, edman headers, nd a brand new 750cfm Holley vacuum secondary carb…basically everything needed on an engine was replaced, nd now has less than about 5,000 miles on it since completion.
The stock GM POWERGLIDE transmission was completely rebuilt by Bob’ Performance Transmission in Venice with 2,400 stall converter, nd all new internals and hardware.
The car fires right up with a turn of the key, dles clean with just a slight burble from the aftermarket cam, nd is ready to roll wherever you want to go.
Snick the transmission into gear, nd the car has MORE than enough power off the line to spin the tires and scare the neighbors. Wind it out, nd the mild shift kit puts you into high gear where the only thing stopping you is the floor board and Johnny Law! The car flat out HAULS on the highway, nd really can stretch out on those long cruises.
It does not run hot, nd is fully capable of a day trip, s I took it to the other coast of Florida for a car show, nd it handled the 430 mile round-trip without any issues at all.
The chassis was completely redone as well, ith all new suspension pieces from JUST SUSPENSION installed throughout. This includes upper and lower ball joints, ontrol arm bushings, way bar and stabilizer link ends, nner and out tie rods and ends, ew coil springs up front, ew leaf springs out back, -Y-B Performance shocks all around, nd hand-fabricated sub frame connecters welded in place.
In addition, he front brakes were replaced with a full power disc kit with new spindles, otors, alipers, ads, ower booster, nd master cylinder. Rear drums were completely rebuilt with new shoes, heel cylinders, nd E-Brake cable.
All of the brake lines, ittings, nd junctions were replaced with new units as well.
Because of all that, he car rides like a dream, nd stops on a dime without issue.
Handling is crisp and clean, nd the car tracks straight as an arrow at any speed.
Braking is smooth, ure, nd aggressive, nd the car scrubs off speed without any odd pulling, ander, xcess fade, r issues.
There are NO noises from the chassis. In fact, t is so quite that it is almost unsettling! All old cars are supposed to squeak, o after 18 years of expecting it, t is strange not to!
The floor pans are in exceptional condition from front to back, nd only have the lightest coat of rust preventative on them so you can still see that it is all metal, nd it is all clean.
They even made sure to replicate just a touch of the “factory overspray” to make it look original!
There are NO signs of rust, ot, atched in sections, r anything else. Just a clean undercarriage.
A complete new exhaust system was installed from the Hedman headers back, ith a crossover set-up, olished SS Magna Flow mufflers, nd polished stainless steel tips. It sounds fantastic, nd has the perfect mix of burble, ark, nd tone to make driving pleasant at any speed.
Inside, he whole car was treated to a layer of sound and heat proof matting before being treated to brand new carpeting, nd a firewall interior heat shield.
The custom upholstery follows the 1969 Camaro DELUXE pattern, ut the inserts are all cloth. Unique upholstery of Venice handled the entire thing from soup to nuts, nd the end result is a stunning, lean, nd simple interior that won’t get dated 20 years down the road like some upholstery jobs do.
It is all clean, ndamaged, nd has no sign of any tears, orn spots, tains, r issues.
Dash is clean, as no cracks or damage, nd is supple to the touch.
Visors are clean, n excellent condition, nd work like they should. The mounts are original, nd show a bit of light patina and age.
Astro-Ventilation on each side of the car still works like it should, nd the custom kick panels were designed with the lever action controls in mind.
The left gauge pod houses the working speedometer with functional odometer. It currently shows 32,372 miles, ut the car is sold as mileage exempt on the title.
Right gauge pod house the working fuel gauge, nd the heater delete plate was custom fitted with AutoMeter gauges for the WATER TEMP and OIL PRESSURE, hich both work as they should.
The transmission tunnel holds the AutoMeter Monster Sport tachometer, hich functions as it should.
Light switch works, s do the dash lights.
Windshield wiper switch works.
Power top switch works.
Ashtray opens as it should, nd holds a 12V cigar light that appears to have never been used.
Glove box is clean, ndamaged, ocks, nd has a liner.
Billet knobs top the shift and signal arms.
A GRANT 4-spoke Mahogany wood steering wheel looks fantastic in the car.
Lokar supplied the gas pedal, nd the factory GM brake pedal looks great too.
Carpeting is OEM style, ooks fantastic, nd shows no damage or staining. It is covered with factory style floor mats front and rear for protection.
Trunk is clean, ully painted, ust free, nd covered with a factory mat that is in very good condition. It houses the custom speaker boxes for the stereo.
A full car cover is included with the car, nd resides in the trunk along with a handful of part and repair manuals the prior owner left with the car.
Trunk seal, ike all of the weather stripping, s in excellent condition, nd seals up correctly.
This is an extremely nice example of a Camaro convertible, nd was an original V8 car as well.
According to the HAGERTY VALUE TREND VEHICLE INDEX, he car is valued as follows, nd has had a slow and steady value growth over the past 5 year period.
