This car includes the original number matching fuel injected L84 engine, 4 speed Muncie transmission, bell housing, fuel injection intake assembly, etc. The original engine and transmission are in working condition. The FI engine starts immediately (I often disconnected the distributor to turn the engine over a few times before cold starting to be sure the oil was circulating first). The transmission was replaced for drivability at highway speeds (aka overdrive). I have videos of the engine running prior to removal to validate it's operating capacity. However, it does need a rebuild. It burned a little oil and had a valve train sound that made me nervous to continue to drive without a rebuild or replacement (I chose the latter). It did not appear that the original engine had ever been removed from the car until now. Ken Nabers (aka Nabers Corvette) expressed this opinion when he saw the car prior to his passing.

The original and current paint color is Daytona Blue.It is a gorgeous color that looks fantastic with the white leather (the original interior was blue vinyl). It is dark enough to appear black in certain pictures, particularly at night. In person, in daytime, it is clearly dark blue with a nice luster. It appears this car has been repainted one time in its history (not by me). The current paint has a few nicks and scratches and would benefit from some retouching.I left as is because it still looks really nice in person, but I don't have to worry about people bumping and scratching it at car shows or taking it out to dinner. What I'm trying to say is that the paint really does look as nice as the pictures suggest, but it's not perfect and I don't want to misrepresent the details.

The wheels are actual knock offs, not lug nut replacements but also not Kelse Hayes originals. Price includes a replacement knock off hammer and a knock off removal tool (so you don't have to risk using the hammer). I am not sure of the origin of the knockoffs. They were already on the car when I purchased.

So why am I selling this car? (I always want to ask that question when I buy a car like this.)I've obviously spent a lot of time and money making this, my personal dream car from when I was a kid, into an excellent enjoyable ride. But I'm getting more into resto-rods and I just can't do those types of modifications to such an original example. If you like the idea of an investment grade car that can be enjoyed now without fear of damaging the precious original drive-train, I don't think you'll have a better find than this one. This is an honest car with no hidden issues that is ready to be enjoyed; and it draws a crowd wherever it goes.
