1984 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Restomod

This 1984 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Restomod is a terrific total package that gives you the vintage look you love on the outside, but beneath the skin is an upgrade to a fuel-injected LS V8 and full sports suspension. And you still get to enjoy the full performance package from a comfy A/C interior.
Before we dig into all the upgrades of this coupe, you should also know how significant the total package is. White exterior with a blue interior was only available for a couple of years, and so it's distinct among these 4th gen SS cars. It's a reason why the exterior remains highly original, preferring a more survivor-style look and largely retaining the factory paint. Of course, you could add a cool modern pearl white if you wanted, but since a car can only be original once, we like the option of having a choice how it's presented to the world. This is the complete SS package with the NASCAR-inspired aerodynamic front end and subtle deck lid spoiler. We also especially like how the full-length striping and decals with built-in fade previews the interior blue. So it does right by a sleeper/survivor style. In fact, the only real hint at this coupe's true upgraded power is the added set of modern 18-inch US Mags alloys.
The consignor states the build started with a low mileage Monte Carlo SS, and the interior really reflects that. 1984 was the only year for the all-blue interior, and so we are thrilled to see it this well presented. This was the only year that the individual front seats and center console were included with the wood paneling interior, and this combo seems to represent the dual sports and luxury nature of the Monte Carlo SS the best. There are great factory features like the power windows, power locks, electric rear defogger, and the dual-spoke sports steering wheel on a tilt column. But as a true restomod, they also made investment in worthwhile upgrades. You have Vintage Air air conditioning, cup holders, and an AM/FM/XM radio with USB input and Bluetooth. Plus, the gauge package is now a crisp and clear Dakota Digital VHX setup.
Under the hood has one of the best modern motor upgrades around. It's GM's 6.0-liter LS2 fuel-injected V8. It was part of the rebirth of the GTO and also gave the Corvette new performance standards, and so it really seems worthy to be placed under the hood of this Monte Carlo. Before the LS power went in, the donor motor was rebuilt/serviced, including a new camshaft, lifters, and head gaskets. The V8 inhales deeply with a cold air intake, and Kooks headers let it exhale with power and authority into the x-pipe dual exhaust. It's believed that the odometer was installed at the same time as the donor motor, and so there's only about 4,600 miles on the refreshed setup. The matching four-speed automatic transmission was serviced at the same time. So the transmission is both smooth and stout at handling this power package. Even the rear end was upgraded to a Ford 9-inch unit. As you look underneath the car, you'll see a full suspension upgrade. It starts with a UMI Stage 2 Performance handling Kit, including tubular control arms front & rear. There's also Bilstein shocks, Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs, power steering with PST steering linkage, and Corvette four-wheel power disc brakes with driller & slotted rotors. So this coupe feels both extra-powerful and extra-sharp out on the road.
The sale comes complete with nice paperwork like the factory buildsheet, owner's manual, and service manuals. It also has some useful spare components, like the rear bumper trim, new decals, touch-up paint, and a new car cover. You know an awesome build like this would take plenty of time and a lot more money. So skip the wait and headache and get straight to your dream Monte Carlo. Call today!!!
