1962 Chevrolet Corvair

1962 Corvair Rampside truck. This truck was off the road since 1984. Its a really cool truck. Truly a no options vehicle. This one has a 1 speed wiper, a dome light and a 3 speed manual transmission. No heater either, a heater was an option and this one didnt have one. The original caps are still on the heater boxes on the engine. Very rare to see one like this. The engine was freshened up. New .060 over pistons and cylinders, rods and new rod bearings. NOS cylinder heads with new valves. I did not split the case on this engine, the inside was in good shape so there was no reason to. Carbs rebuilt and jetted for the overbore. All the tin and brackets on the engine have been powdercoated. Runs really well. Fuel tank removed and cleaned, all new fuel hoses installed. New fuel pump, spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, points, condensor, coil, air filters. Oil changed in transmission and differentialNew control arm bushings and shocks in the rear, and the front has all new bushings, ball joints and shocks. Not the cheep delco parts either. I used all the high end replacement parts from AC delco. New 15" rally rims and new tires. This makes it much easier to get tires. Brakes are all new as well. New master cylinder, hoses, drums, shoes, wheel cylinders and springs.Generator was rebuilt, the regulator was serviced as well. New battery and cables. All new headlights turn signal and brake light and dome light bulbs. Everthing works and works well. Also replaced the window channel seals so the glass not not rattle in the doors. All the locks have been gone through and repaired, 1 new key works everything including the glove box. New ignition switch and tumbler, headlight switch and brake light switch were dissassembeled, cleaned and serviced. No rust holes in the cab, its in really good shape. There is rust in the usual places for a rampside, this is not a rust free vehicle. Along the edges of the body work on the outsides. 2 small spots on the rocker underneath on the passanger side. Nothing really structural. Its pretty solid otherwise. You cant beat the patina. And yes, thats the original seatYou can get in and just drive it. Really cool truck and I wish I had the space to keep it.
