A brief introduction to the Chevrolet Taskforce...
TheChevrolet Task Forcewas Chevrolet's successor to the Advance Designseries. The Task Force Series ran from late 1955 (second series) through 1959. AtGMCdealers, it was called the Blue Chip Series.
The 1955 second series offered standard options and add-ons such as 12-volt electrical systems, Chevrolet’s firstV8 enginesince 1915 (265 cubic inches), and Fleetside beds in 1958. Commercial trucks and various other heavy duty models were available.
1958: First year for new Fleetside bed (called Wideside by GMC) in 6.5ft (2.0m) and 8ft (2.4m) lengths, significant redesign of front end. All light-duty trucks are now called "Apache", medium-duty trucks called "Viking", and heavy-duty trucks called "Spartan". Truck has four headlights instead of the previous two and features a shorter, wider grille running the width of the front end. Parking lights are now in the grille instead of being in the front of the fender and the hood is similar to 1955/1956 models, but with a flat "valley" in the middle. First year for factory-equipped air conditioning.

We are selling this beautiful 1958 Chevy "Apache" Taskforce 1/2 ton for one of our personal friends. He purchased it in 2003 from the West Coast; we assisted him then withshipping it back to Pennsylvania.
Over the past 17 years it has been driven to various car and truck shows on the east coast; Owner states it was driven approximately 3,000 miles a year.
Odometer currently reads 17,539; this is the mileage that has elapsed since owner replaced the speedometer cluster. Mileage before replacement was 114,822.

below have been replaced / upgraded or rebuilt in the time owner has had truck.
