1966 Chevrolet Corvair Corsa Crown Conversion

This 1966 Chevrolet Corvair is a rare Corsa coupe, but that's not what's really going to make you pay attention. Instead, this has a dark style that's backed up by a mid-engine small block V8 upgrade. Oh yeah! And not only is it powerful, but this is also a four-speed, four-wheel disc brakes car. So it really take the cool look of the Corvair and makes the supercar you always wished GM had in mind.

We really love how this one gives real performance to the svelte Corvair lines. The VIN tells us this is the high-end Corsa coupe. It was the sportiest and most expensive Corvair of its day, and so it was the rarest of the coupes. Of course, most people's first question is likely not going to be about the model history. This one upgrades the mean machine factor from every angle. The deep chin spoiler has a racecar look, and so does the headlight delete that makes way for added cooling. The polished Weld racing wheels draw added attention to the wide tires. And the large rear spoiler and clear LED taillights have a pure custom appearance. A car like this seems to be right when done in a dark color. It has a hot rod black style with a matte finish and a tough attitude. The value price on such a full performance build certainly does leave room in the budget if you want to turn this into a glossy coupe, but right now, the appearance already seems to set the aggressive tone nicely.

The interior is a full performance setup. There's Corbeau racing seats, added bracing, a floor shifter, and a Grant GT sports steering wheel on a tilt column. The gauges are a full AutoMeter Carbon Fiber Ultra-Lite package with the large and important tach. There is an AM/FM/CD stereo, but in a car like this, the best soundtrack starts with what's right behind your seat.

By now you've noticed that the rear seat is gone. In its place is a mighty 350 cubic-inch small block V8. It's a true Crown kit conversion, and if you're a Corvair fan, you know that's special all on its own. The V8 makes serious power with upgrades like a Holley four-barrel carburetor, an aluminum intake, HEI ignition, and wrapped headers that feed the dual exhaust. And because this Corvair is no longer air-cooled, the front trunk has an aluminum radiator with electric fan. In fact, this is such a useful setup, that the rear where the engine once was is now a proper trunk that can hold a spare tire. But what we really love is the performance advantage this custom setup unleashes. You have a powerful V8 placed in the middle of the car for the ideal weight distribution. Plus, you get to take full advantage of the Corvair's fully independent sports suspension. And this has even been upgraded to four-wheel disc brakes. So basically, this Chevy gives you less mass and better distribution than even a Corvette!

Complete with service manuals, this is a very special kind of classic for those who appreciate what a true sports car is all about. Don't miss this deal, call today!
