1966 Chevrolet Corvette

1966 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe L79
Viva Las Vegas Autos Presents...

This fully numbers matching and very rare 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe L79 in Laguna Blue. In 1966, Chevrolet produced only 2054 Corvettes, both Convertibles and Coupe in Laguna Blue. Of the 27,720 Corvettes that year, 9,958 were coupes and the rest 17,762 were convertibles. So if only 7.41% of the Corvette line up were in the Laguna Blue, it's safe to estimate only 736 Coupes were finished in the Laguna Blue. Only two other colors, Tuxedo Black and Trophy Blue had lower production numbers. Now, to be able to find this Corvette Coupe in this beautiful Laguna Blue and fully numbers matching and all components date code correct as well, I can safely say this is a pretty rare find indeed. Once you see the almost two hundred pictures below and the video we produced, we hope you will find this Corvette a great match for your awesome collection.
To give some history of this 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe, our owner has been bringing me his collector cars for years as he finds he wants to replace them with another. He knows the value of our presentation because he was also a buyers of one of my collector Porsches in the past. He knew that we present our cars fairly and honestly and make sure they are as right as possible with full disclosure and great photography and video too. The benefit to you is simple, you will find our presentation of the facts as we know them at 100% with nothing left to the imagination. The 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe came with documentation from it's original owner, and below, we will present what's within it's pages showing documentation on the meaningful components of this great car. When our seller bought this car a few years ago from a dealership, they described this car as a "NCRS Candidate" and my guess for calling it that was simply becasue it does have all of it's original equipment, number's matching engine with VIN derivatives on both engine and transmission. The rest of the components of the car are correctly date coded to match the build sequence of the production. So, yes, the car could be completely restored to a NCRS Judged car, but that facts are, it has never been a NCRS judged car. Most important to note here is that this car is extremely original with only a couple modifications. The aftermarket knock-off wheels were added at sometime during it's life. But the rest of the car, appears very original and possibly unrestored or an older restoration. The pictures we have taken DO NOT LIE. the car looks as good as you see it and you will also see close up images with minor flaws and blemishes are shown up close. So, Please review the hundreds of pictures thoroughly. We don't hide anything and we want you to really get better than you even expected. You'll note my feedback for 18 years on eBay is excellent and my customers really appreciate my full disclosure.
As you look through the images, nearly 200 of them from top to bottom, enjoy this piece of history but if you wants to make this car a part of your history, don't be shy and bid like most eBay bidders do, call me and let's make a deal and show you how to close your deal early on eBay. Most bidders never have any real intent to buy on eBay, their bids obviously reflect their insincereity and lack of respect for quality collectible. You, the real buyer, I speak to you because you are actually reading this with real intent to want to see this classic in your garage. Just look down through my listing and you will see my phone number and please feel free to call. I am sure you have a pretty good honest idea of what this car will sell for and I am sure you will be able to make that deal with me if you call. Bidders that never read my auctions, send me that dumbass question..."What's your bottom line, your lowest price, your ROCK BOTTOM...?" and I have to just laugh because I know that the only important issue they want to resolve is seeing how "Cheap" they can get the car and they haven't even read a single word of the presentation or looked at 98% of the pictures. You on the other hand have. So let's have a fun conversation so you can own this car at a great deal and have incredible confidence in a seller who's been at this on Ebay for the last 18 years with perfect feedback.
Talk to you soon. 702-353-7500 Doug

Exterior...

Ok, I think we have your attention if you are still reading and starring at the first 8 images of this 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe. As you can see so far, the exterior is in exceptional condition. It has never been in an accident or had any major damage repair; all original fiberglass panels. The right front fender had a small repair that you will be able to see in the pictures. You don't see the repair from the exterior, just underneath about center in the wheel well. The paint is showing some age but overall, beautiful. It just will not win a first place for paint finish. That's not saying by any means that it needs to be refinished. It is as you see it in the pictures and please look for the minor flaws and blemishes I point out. The wheels, tires, chrome trim and bumpers all look fantastic. The glass is all date code correct except for the windshield and in great shape. The car runs and drives exceptionally well. Doesn't overheat and stops perfectly. Really does not need anything to be immediately enjoyed.
The documents with the car tells us that the car had a restoration back in June of 1986. It was a windows out complete restoration and the knock off wheels were added at that time. There is a two page list of items replaced, restored or repaired.
Let's stare at some more images again...

Interior...

This is where we make the difference to the buyers. Up close and personal images so you can see everything you need to and be able to make an intelligent choice when it comes to spending your hard earned cash. We don't shy away from showing our cars up close because they really are as good as we say. When most sellers don't say word and barely show any good pictures, we know that you are buying over the internet and want to feel very confident about your purchase. Don't stop here, keep looking at the pictures. But we also want you to look at our 18 solid years of feedback at 100% happy clients. That is absolutely as important as the Corvette itself. The interior Shows very nicely with only minor wear and tear. The driver's seat has a small seam separation and half inch tear with a couple blemishes on the bolster. We took close up pictures so you can see them clearly. The headliner is pulling out of the side railing of the door and you can see the foam backing. The dash is beautiful, with no cracks. The door panels and carpet are all in great condition. Again, it's all there and in great condition but not perfect.

Drivetrain...

Driving this 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe is like stepping back in time...a time when pure muscle was felt on the seat of your butt. I was absolutely amazed at the quality of the ride and the smoothness in the shifting of gears. The power of the L79 350hp engine is legendary and this engine performs like the rockstar it is. Not a glitch at all in performance from its raw power to the flawless shifting of the Muncey Close ratio M21 transmission. The 3.07:1 ratio positraction rear end spins like a dream and the real Teakwood steering wheel is that polished touch of class rarely seen in a 1966 Corvette too.

Documentation...

When it come to documentation for a Corvette, it always starts with the seller and what he is willing to research about the car. I have heard hundreds of sellers claim their cars were numbers matching, yet they could not even tell me where to find those numbers. They just believed the last guy they bought it from and never verified it. We DO! That is huge to us and it better be huge to you too. It is what retains the value of any collector car. The authenticity is vital, especially with a Corvette.

Viva Las Vegas Autos Note from the Owner...

I am a “used car dealer” but before that, I’m an automobile enthusiast. I love original, rare and high quality modified vintage and modern cars. Over the past 18 years I’ve been in business, I have come to appreciate an expanding selection of high-demand, high value vehicles as well. I specialize in and I am always on the lookout for cars and trucks that were cherished by their previous owners.
I have an experienced eye for quality and I’ve discovered that my preferred buyers can instantly discern such a vehicle and I have therefore, built my business and reputation around finding these kinds of cars for this type of customer. Super low miles and/or gentle ownership are strict requirements but a car must do something for me on a personal level if there is any hope of convincing you, the buyer, that this is an above average, exceptional vehicle. If nothing about the car excites me, it probably won’t do much for you either and I would soon be out of business.

With just four employees and no sales people, I realize how unusual a “dealership” like mine may be at a first glance. It has taken great care and effort to create such an organization and often, an unusually high investment in a particular car we are about to list. To sell the best it is critical to have a trusted expert in my corner. First we do an exhaustive 130 point inspection on each and every vehicle and hope nothing escapes our methodical investigation. Experience has shown that everything I spend making a car truly “right” will come back to me not only with a higher selling price, but a happy customer that says good things about Collector's Dream Cars. Moreover, it allows us to describe the car with ease and confidence, something that simply is not possible unless we think it is true. If major issues are found or the cost of fixing the car the way it should be makes it too expensive to sell, my choice is an easy one. I simply absorb a few hundred dollars loss for my trouble and sell it at auction so you don’t get a headache over the vehicle.

After the vehicle is fully checked over and made whole at any level it needs to be, we researches its history, documents, documenting originality and authenticity. Historical significance, rarity, special features, possible modifications, and much more are used to accurately describe the vehicle with integrity and honesty. Most important for the potential buyer are the 100 to 200 high resolution pictures that I take myself. The pricey equipment I use would be right at home in the hands of the very best professional photographers and I’ve developed a logical format that walks you around the entire vehicle with close-up shots of every square inch. I provide detailed views of the interior, under the hood and then put it on a lift to show the undercarriage and confirm that the beauty of the car you are considering is not merely skin deep. Even our detailers are enthusiastic about the cars they meticulously clean. Reconditioning can sometimes take several days as we do all that we can within reason to get our vehicles in tip top condition visually and cosmetically. We do Way more than just a cheap detail. Our details are more like refurbishing to as close to new as we can possibly get our vehicles.

Usually, I’ll also include a high definition video that shows the car doing its thing. If it’s a fast car, we film it going fast. If it’s a 4x4 you’ll see it crawling up a hill. In every case you will hear things like a rumbling exhaust, working sound system and watch gauges operation as well.

No “dealer,” on-line or in the real world, takes it to this level. No other seller or organization provides you, the buyer, with so much information. I do this because it is the only way I can convince a person; often a world away, unable to touch or feel their purchase that my vehicle is for real and what I say is an honest assessment. All the above is necessary for me to stay in business while keeping integrity intact. I want every buyer to be happy and I need glowing feedback on eBay. To accomplish that I need satisfied customers that are as thrilled with their purchase as I was when I bought it.

If you have any questions at all, please call me on my cell at: 702-353-7500. If your inquiry is sincere and your offer is serious, you’ll find me the most accommodating business partner you’ve ever dealt with. If you call or e-mail asking for my reserve or “what is my bottom line” I will be looking for ways to politely end the conversation. Until you are ready to actually make an offer, I will happily quote you a liberal suggested retail price – a number we both know will not buy the car so, don’t waste your time, or mine. I am after all, a “used car dealer.”
