1938 Chevrolet Other Pickups

This pickup was purchased new by Symm's Fruit Orchard in Sunny Slope, Idaho and was used as an orchard truck until 1957 when it was purchase by Grandpa Harold who used it in his painting business. It was last registered last in 1968 as an 'Old Timer'. Owned by same family since 1957. He was the second owner.

Not many 82 year old original SURVIVORS out there that still run and drive.
Amazingly, it starts, runs and drives. Has the original 'Blue Flame' 216 cubic inch (3.5L) overhead valve straight six. This engine has great torque and reliability. It was said to have rebuilt (years ago) and runs well. No smoke. The starter will need replaced because the solenoid does not always engage. (easy fix). It also needs brake work. The pedal goes to the floor, so it is unsafe to drive. Have a video of us driving it forward and backward in the back yard that I can send you. You can also hear it running. Has a new 6V battery. Original gas tank that goes under the seat was not salvageable, so we purchased a 72 VW tank that was the same size and filler style and it is included.
Comes with the original 1938 grille with horizontal bars in excellent condition. Also has original Deluxe Redhead heater.
Some of the cool features about the truck, the front windshield cranks out for A/C:) Windows roll down with some help. Has all the original gauges. If you go to ClassicCars.com you will see about 15 of these for sale. Most have been modified to a hot rod, rat rod or restomod and they sell in the mid 20's to mid 30's.
The cab and doors are in very good overall condition with no cancer rust showing. All the fenders have seen some better days. Running boards are okay. As the pictures show, it needs a new wood floor in the bed.
Not many of these around. Much more rare than the Fords of this year. The cool thing is that once the brakes are done and the tank is installed, you could be driving this within days.
Nobody in the family wants it, so we are motivated. See it in person and make us an offer. It is going on eBay in about 2 weeks if nobody local wants it. Sold with original 1957 Idaho Title. Pickup is located in Nampa, Idaho near Boise. Zip code is 83651 to get transport quotes from this zip to yours.
