Super clean and original 1971 Chevrolet Custom 20. I purchased this from a longtime owner/collector who had it stored in his pole shed for the last 20 years. This is a pristine example of General Motor's "Action Line" of Chevrolet and GMC pickups. I've owned several examples of these trucks over the years, and this is by far the best preserved and original one I've owned or seen in person. This 1971 was built in the now razed Janesville Wisconsin General Motors plant. The original owner ordered this along with a green 1971 Chevelle upon his retirement from the Allis-Chalmers factory in West Allis, Wisconsin. He used this truck on his small dairy farm for approximately 25 years, before selling it to the gentleman that I purchased it from.
Very original, right down to the GM factory hoses/tower clamps and chalk marks on the firewall. Still has the factory RPO sticker in the glovebox, and all emission/engine bay decals in place. It still shows the "307" valve cover decal, which is the first time I've seen one in person. Original dark olive and white two tone paint that shows very well. 99% rust free. There are only two spots in the bed, each about the size of a half dollar. Frame and floorboards are super clean. The paint is 100% all original and shines extremely well. The trim is in excellent condition with only a few spots with minor dings. All of the weatherstripping and rubber are in near perfect condition. See videos listed below for more details. It still has the factory applied "disc brakes" decal on the tailgate and an ancient American Oil Motor Club sticker on the rear window.
Interior is all original and the AM radio still works! Also has an older FM transmitter that works great too. The seat, door panels, and rubber floor mat are in very good condition with typical wear visible. I did pull the rubber flooring to examine the floorboards, which are super solid and still have the factory applied paint.
Original 307 V8 with SM465 4speed transmission. HO52 heavy duty rearend with HD spring package.Runs like a sewing machine. I've driven this on 200 mile road trips with no issues. Starts up and idles great. Mileage is currently 59,910 and will go up as I drive it a couple days a week.
New 265/75/r16 tires and 16x7 rims repainted the correct factory white color.Has new Hooker aluminized 2.5 inch dual exhaustPertronix ignitor 3 under the factory distributor capNew tachometer.I rebuilt the Rochester 2g carb two months ago.New donut gaskets in the manifolds. Manifolds were also bead blasted and painted with new hardware installed.New gas tank float.
EVERYTHING WORKS as it should on this truck, including the dome light. Just get in and drive it. You will be hard pressed to find a more original and well preserved 67-72 GM truck for the money.
If you want a nice, honest, all original weekend truck, this is the one. Feel free to ask me questions. I have videos on Youtube at the following links. Copy and paste to view.
