Are you searching for a very-cool vintage pickup w/ great looks and incredible performance that will not break the bank? If so, I’m pretty sure that we have the truck for you!
‘Red Hills Rods & Classics’ is happy to offer you this beautiful 1957 Chevrolet 3100 Big-Window Stepside Pickup! This is a mean-looking classic pickup if there ever was one, and it has the drive-train to back it up. The restoration/build was done about 10 years ago, but the truck still looks great today. It is part of a very large collection here in St. George, Utah, who happen to have a staffed mechanic who keeps all of the vehicles meticulously maintained and up to date. Finished in a beautiful shade of Dark Black Cherry Pearl, this pickup looks like it is gloss black until you get up close and see the Dark Cherry Pearl. It really is a beautiful color, and though it is an older paint job it still shows quite nicely. All of the chrome, bumpers, grille & stainless steel trim is bright & shiny, and in excellent condition throughout. The front windshield, big rear window, and door windows are crystal clear and look like new. She sits on 15” M/T polished Mag wheels wrapped w/ Nitto NT555R Extreme Drag radials on the rear (275/60/R15), and BF Goodrich TA radial tires up front (P225/70/R15). An EAZ LIFT trailer hitch was installed in back for pulling your boats or trailer.
Open the driver’s door and you will find a very nice two-tone grey cloth interior, featuring: two-tone grey cloth bench-seat w/ matching door panels & pouches, painted dash w/ a billet No Limit dash insert, a full set of (5) Auto Meter classic-style gauges, Auto Meter Boost gauge, chrome tilt-steering column w/ column mounted Super Pro tachometer, wrapped billet 2-spoke steering wheel, 24” Lokar shifter, Vintage air conditioning, (2) sets of seat belts, and black carpeting throughout. Even though it is an older build, the interior has held up quite well and still shows nicely.
Now, let’s get to the heart of this beast, shall we?
Pop open the hood and you will find a custom-built 406ci SBC motor, built to super-charger specifications, featuring: Weiand 671 supercharger, (2) Holley 650cfm carburetors, gear-drive, Moroso finned aluminum valve covers, MSD Digital 6AL ignition, custom headers, power steering, power front disc brakes, extra-large radiator, etc. The mean looking 406ci Blown motor is linked to a TH400 automatic transmission, which feeds power to the original Eaton rear-end. She fires up instantly, settling into a nice smooth idle, and she runs, drives & performs beautifully. One look at the massive motor tells you that this truck is ‘extremely’ quick, and has that wonderful whine from the supercharger that we all love. The power steering & power front disc brakes makes driving around town effortless, and when you get out on the highway she tracks straight & true. I consider this truck to be a HUGE bang for the buck, period! It can still win awards at your local car events, but it can also be driven and enjoyed to the fullest.
Again, if you have been searching for a sweet classic pickup truck w/ great looks and incredible performance that will not break the bank, you will want to take a very close look at this beautiful 1957 Chevrolet 3100 Big-Window Stepside Pickup.
