1969 Chevrolet Camaro

1969 L78 Chevrolet Camaro SS X66 Description Here is a great X66 (396 SS) Camaro. This is one of the penultimate of Camaros, this one has a replacement block L78 396 with the casting number of 3955272 with a minimum of 375 horse power. The original block was replaced under warranty, imagine that. This well restored unit comes to us from the previous (3rd) owner that has had the car since 1979 and he purchased it from the second owner and did the restoration to a very high standard. Finished in correct correct code 67 Burgundy (less than 3% were done in this color) with standard Black interior and a Red Hockey Stick stripe. Those horses are channeled through a Muncie M21 4 speed with a 12 bolt 4.10 Posi rear end. The paint is exceptional and the interior is nice as new. The equipment level includes AM/FM radio and power brakes with front discs. This car was sold new at Fred Gibbs Chevrolet in Le Harpe, Il according to previous owner that has spoken with the first owner and others that know of the car from it's early days. This is one that didn't go far from it's original home and has local provenance. This car was ordered as an all out Street Brawler with few frills, thus no spoilers or power steering. The first owner ordered the car but forgot to check the stripe delete box and Chevy had an edict that all SS cars were to leave the factory with a stripe unless stripe delete noted on the order form so the plant chose the Red Hockey Stick. This created some irritation between the owner and Gibbs Chevrolet. We really don't know how that worked out but it's there today. If you are looking for a very well done and awesome driving first generation Camaro with all the Ponies don't miss this opportunity Features Rebuilt L78 396 Turbo Fire V8 with Hydraulic Cam and Lifters Muncie M21 transmission with Hurst shifter and linkage Positraction rear end with 4.10 gears Stock steering gear box non power Pedal Ease Power brakes with front discs 7000 RPM tach with 6k Redline Performance Tuned Dual Exhaust with Great Note Factory Correct Black Vinyl Top that is perfect Finished in Correct Code 67 Burgundy Base Coat – Clear Coat Factory Correct Red Hockey Stick Stripe Original SS Hood with Simulated Intake Ports Immaculate Tuxedo Black Strato Bucket Seats Full Length Center Console with Gauges and Storage Era correct AM/FM Radio in the dash Rock Solid Trunk with Space Saver Spare, Good Mat and Weather Stripping Excellent set of Firestone F70/14 RWL Wide Ovals Like New GM Rally wheels with Dog Dish Caps Detailed Engine and Trunk including spare and jack Extremely nice car Top to Bottom and Front to Back
