1969 Chevrolet Impala SS

This car may be rarer than I thought before spending $35,000 restoring it. It is equipped from the factory with the SS interior appearance packageincluding bucket seats and the coveted on the floor horseshoe shifter. Theengine is the original 350 (matching numbers) and was overhauled approximately3,000 miles ago. The cam shaft has been changed to a ¾ RV, the timing gear hasbeen beefed up, and the carburetor is a Carter competition 4. The car has beencompletely gone through with a full sympathetic restoration. Paint is new andso are the tires. It is a beautiful black with original black interior and newblack cloth convertible top featuring a rear glass window (the same caliber topyou get on a new BMW).

Historical info states, “Starting for the 1962 model year, theImpala SS was an appearance package limited to hardtop coupe and convertiblecoupe models, available with all engines in the Impala series starting with thebase 235-cubic-inch (3.9 L), 135 horsepower (101 kW) inline-6 through 1967,though the big-block engines and heavy-duty parts could still be ordered. From1967 to 1969, an additional model, the SS427, was available.” This car’s engineis a 350 and was built for the Corvette application. It is 9.5 to 1 compressionwith 194 intake valve and 150 exhaust valve. Special high performance, L-79hydraulic lifters.

The car comes with factory A/C, power windows, new oil andtemperature gauges, tachometer, and more. It has a new 4 speaker sound systemequipped for AM/FM radio, CD, and USB. I love the car and it’s a real headturner, but I’m moving and have no place to park it. 1969--the year we walked on the moon. Insured by Hagerty for$45,000. My loss is your gain!
