1966 Chevrolet Impala Restomod

Here's exactly what you want in a classic. This 1966 Chevrolet Impala has the look of a full-size hardtop. And upgrades like the powerful ZZ4 performance V8, enhanced suspension, overdrive transmission, and comfy A/C interior make it even easier to enjoy this classic near or far.
Chevrolet's best-selling full-size Impala really looked sleek and striking in '66, and this hardtop coupe represents all of that perfectly. The factory-correct Lemonwood Yellow is the right 1960s tone, and the premium black vinyl roof provides a distinct contrast. All the brightwork is correct from the wraparound bumpers, to the full-width grille, to the sweeping trim line that starts at the front fender and wraps around the rear. There has been a solid investment in upgrades the performance of this coupe, and while the exterior is all about being an incognito sleeper, the bright and modern 17-inch Boyds alloys hints at the power within.
We love it on a premium classic when the roof color is also a preview of the interior color. There have been plenty of upgrades, but they have all been done tastefully. For example, the two rows of wide bench seats are more recently redone. But they never lose that low-back look that gives this pillarless hardtop a terrific uncluttered profile when all the windows are down. And while the AM radio is still on display, they have cleanly installed a modern AM/FM/CD stereo w/aux input under the dash. So if this is starting to sound like the classic you want to use with family and friends, then you'll really love that this has modern R134a air conditioning to keep them all comfortable. But even for those who like going solo, this Impala is a great machine. You have a column-mounted tach, an auxiliary gauge trio, and a B&M floor shifter that all signal that you're going to love what's under the hood.
The engine bay is a clean presentation of a powerful motor. This 350 cubic-inch ZZ4 crate V8 was installed only about 7k miles ago. It has aluminum heads, a Holley four-barrel carburetor, GM aluminum intake, and Hedman headers feeding an X-pipe dual exhaust. It also has the right supporting components, like serpentine belts, MSD ignition, Optima red top battery, and a large Champion aluminum radiator. It's the kind of well-done total build that fires up nicely and runs strong. In fact, the 200-4R four-speed automatic transmission is a TCI unit. So it's stout enough to handle the extra power and smooth enough to deliver proper overdrive comfort. The same mix of strength and usability is in the Auburn 3.73 rear end with Positraction. As you look underneath this one, you'll see more great investments in driver-friendly features, like power steering, power brakes w/discs up front, and Hotchkis sway bars front & rear.
