Description:

1973 Chevrolet G20 Van

Very cool one-owner 1973 Chevy G20 Cargo Van in excellent condition. 350 CID V8, automatic transmission. I bought this at an estate sale, and will provide you with all provenance from the previous owner including original purchase receipt, maintenance log, warranty, owner's manual, etc. This van was stored in a garage it's entire life due to the previous owner's medical condition, and it's evidenced by the soft and supple condition the window seal rubber is in. I've never seen a vehicle this old where the windshield rubber isn't brittle or dried out. The interior is like a time-warp. It's practically undamaged with the passage of time. Super cool inside.
Great blank canvas for a van project. Or a great cargo van for your band. Or a van for your outdoor adventures - cargo area is big enough to load in a one-man kayak.
INTERIOR:
Interior is as-new with the exception of the plastic on the steering wheel has cracked with shrinkage, and three small tears on the seats which have been repaired with a clear vinyl tape. No cracks in dash, all the dash plastic shines (no fading). Doghouse clips and stays in place normally. Turn signals, windshield wipers, dome light, headlights, brake and taillights work normally. And amazingly enough - the windshield wiper sprayers still work.
The back area of the cargo van is floor-to-ceiling original shag carpeting. It's pretty neat. Carpeting is in excellent condition - no stains, tears or much wear from use at all.
The door lock and ignition key which should have been the same had been rekeyed at one point, so there are two different keys for the van that look identical.
EXTERIOR:
Doors/slider all open and close normally. Drivers, passengers and back doors lock with the keys, the slider door does not lock, but the key fits in (not sure why). No cracks in the window glass. Paint has some slight fading with age - but is still shiny for the most part. There are two dents in the van, one at the bottom back of the slider door (see pictures) and the other in the back panel next to the rear door (see pictures). This van was located in a rural area of Montana, and when the previous owner was transported to-and-fro for appointments, there was highway driving from their location - resulting in lots of rock chipping on the lower panels, grill and bumpers. You can see it in the photos. It's a little distracting in some places, not noticeable in others. It appears they did some work to protect the rear quarter panels by the wheel well to prevent it from getting worse (see pictures). The paint is original and has a lot of shine left in it, but there are areas where it's a little faded. The original dealership invoice shows this two-tone paint color option of the van.
Tires are probably at 50% or more. Totally driveable, with no checking or cracking of the sidewalls.
DRIVETRAIN:
The previous owner maintained the vehicle with care. There is a maintenance log for many years and it feels very mechanically sound. I drove this van 4+ hours at 70-80 mph to get it home, with zero problems and no burning oil. You could drive this van across country in my opinion. It runs well.
I have put a new battery in.
