1968 Chevrolet Chevelle Convertible

A 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle convertible will always make a great first impression. After all, the factory droptops of this muscle car legend are rare. But when you can have one that comes with performance big block power, four-on-the-floor, and a great color combo, then you know you're looking at true vintage car distinction. The '68 Chevelle is a legend. The design has overhangs front & rear, big chrome bumpers, and intricate trim. It truly wanted to own the... road. So it's great to have one that commands attention so well. The deep blue paint is an upgrade later in life, so while it has the darkness worthy of a powerful machine, there's also a shine you'll really enjoy when the sunlight hits it â€" exactly what you want in a sunshine-friendly convertible. And speaking of shine, the form-fitting bumpers and classic rally wheel package headline a nice brightwork package. This one has some Super Sport-style upgrades, like the SS badging, blacked-out rear panel, and the dual power domes in the hood. It creates a sporty-looking package that the engine really backs up (more on that in a moment.) The black roof looks great against the deep blue paint, and when you fold it down it reveals an even more attractive all-black interior. It has a nice vintage presentation that is detailed down to the trim on the doors and the button-top pattern for the seats. While you'll enjoy sharing this convertible with family and friends, this one is truly all about the driver. You slip into the bucket seat, grab the Chevy three-spoke sports steering wheel with your left hand, and your right one never wants to leave the Hurst shifter. You've got all the factory gauges right in front of you, including the cool barrel-style tach â€" a rare find that Chevelle people love to see. The exterior callouts on the side might say 396, but that's a bit of a fib. This one is packing a much larger 454 cubic-inch big block. The V8 looks great filling the engine bay with its bold orange block, shining valve covers, newer belts, and a bright air grabber. But beneath the style is the substance of a Holley dual-feed four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, and Accel HEI ignition. This total package exhales with authority out of long tube headers that add power while contributing to the rumble of the Flowmaster H-pipe dual exhaust. You have complete control over the sound and the fury of this total power package thanks to the four-speed manual transmission. Beyond just a dominating total drivetrain package, this Chevelle offers good control. Features like power steering and power brakes w/discs up front give it a commanding feeling on the streets. Chevrolet only built 10,600 Chevelle convertibles in 1968, making them a very rare commodity over half a century later. So to find one with all the right features for a powerful driving experience is the kind of treat that doesn't come around very often. Call today!!!
