1948 Chevrolet Stylemaster 2 Door Sedan

Join all the fun in this affordable classic! It has tons of vintage good looks and lots of originality and history buffs might appreciate that this car spans the war. This 1948 Chevrolet Stylemaster 2 Door Sedan was an update of the pre-war '42 so that Chevy could quickly meet the demands of a country ready to get back to having fun. Check it out. If you look at the car from the front, it looks like... the car itself is even having a good time. The chrome grill of split horizontal lines underlined by a gently curved front bumper make it look like its smiling. The Green paint look great when coated atop vintage American steel, and even though it isn't perfect and has a few flaws, it shines up well and attracts plenty of attention. Headlights perched on the front fenders have body colored trim rings with a delicate ring of chrome around the inside with 5 bars of indented dressing up the edges on each side. The long, tapered hood has an ornament on the front of it and the split windshield is a cool throwback feature you'll never see on a modern car again. From the side, the lines of the car are defined by those awesome fenders and the way the body flows smoothly down over the trunk. Chrome trim protects the rocker panels and the back edge of the front fenders, along with a thin piece that encircles the car above the doors, as if to separate the top from bottom. A chrome latch enables access to a huge trunk and it's all underlined by another chrome bumper that has the same bumper brackets found up front. Open the door and you will find a very comfortable interior upholstered in beige cloth and protected by what may very well be the original plastic covers on both the front and rear benches. The door panels may well be original too and set the look with burled wood across the top, a matching cloth center with chrome window and door hardware, and a splash of gray on the bottom. Slide in and settle into the split bench seat and then reach out to wrap your hands around the big three spoke steering wheel with the Chevy bowtie center button. The column and the dash span the generations but stay true to a simple and practical theme, and the channel around the windshield is made up of the same burled wood found on the doors. There is an old school blinker assembly and simple, exposed shifter mechanism for the 3-speed automatic trans. The center of the dash is vintage chrome with Chevrolet in script embossed along the bottom, and that is complimented by a set of original gauges to keep accurate tabs on basic engine functions. Out back the trunk is finished with a reproduction mat and spare tire assembly. Under the hood you'll find a 216.5 cubic inch, in-line 6-cylinder motor nestled down in a neat and stock engine bay. This is the motor that would eventually grow up and get hopped up, to become the Blue Flame engine used in the original Corvettes. Pretty cool, huh? This one is still equipped as it would have been from the factory, with an engine bay dominated by the large oil bath air cleaner and light blue valve cover. It's a 6-volt and generator set-up, but the engine cranks right up and fires to life, ready to plant its torquey strength straight into the ground. A giant radiator keeps things running cool and the power flows back through a 3-speed manual transmission to a solid rear axle mounted on leaf springs. A control arm front suspension with coil springs has sway bar links to help the car handle well and the rubber meets the road through correct 6.00-16 whitewall bias-plys wrapped around steel wheel adorned with Chevrolet hubcaps. Vintage good looks on a sedan that's ready to drive, this Chevy is ready to roll. It's just looking for a driver who wants to roll with it. Would that be you? Call today!
