1955 Chevrolet Other Pickups Step side

Call Steve with any questions at (724)-523-2947. Best time to reach me is between 12 noon and 12 midnight eastern time. Here we have a super solid 1955 Chevy 3100 second series, shortbed, stepside pickup for sale. This truck was built in Oakland, California, then went to Nevada. It was purchased by the previous owner in Ohio in 2008 and garage kept, only being driven to car cruise events. I purchased the truck last year, but need to sell off a couple vehicles. The underside of this truck is about as clean as you'll find. Even the lower cowl area where the lower fender bolts on behind the front wheels is rust-free. There's one picture showing this area on the driver's side. The floors, steps and lower door hinge area is also excellent as shown in pics. The truck was painted in Nevada about 25 years ago with base/clear in it's current color. It shows it's age, but looks pretty damn good from 20 feet. The chrome is a bit weak in spots, especially the grill, but still, as I said, is a nice twenty-footer. Not a show truck, but a nice cruise night vehicle. I was planning to do a shop truck theme with old time garage decals on the doors and adding some artificial patina. The engine is a fresh 355 with a balanced rotating assembly consisting of flat-top pistons, GM rods and crank, and A.R.P fasteners throughout. The heads are new World Products SR Torquers with Manley valves. I installed a Howard's hydraulic flat tappet cam with 221 intake, 231 exhaust duration @ .050" lift, .470" valve lift, and 110 lobe separation. The compression is a pump gas friendly 9.4:1. I built a Quick Fuel 750 double pumper with annular boosters (I own a carburetor business), and the ignition is handled by a Pertronix distributor and coil, with Taylor wires and Accel Plugs. The transmission is a rebuilt Muncie M20 with about 700 miles on it. The clutch, pressure plate and flywheel are new. It uses a new Hurst Competition Plus shifter to row the gears. It has a newer Denny's driveshaft with heavy-duty u-joints. The carpet is new, and the seats are new ProCar brand that slide and recline, and also have the optional headrests. The lights all work, including the signals and 4-way flashers. The parking brake works, it has a working tachometer, gas gauge, oil and temp gauges, and it even has seat belts. The suspension is essentially stock, but it's been lowered 2.5" front, and about 3" in the back. Rides and steers like an old truck, but that's part of the fun. It has been upgraded to disc brakes up front, with a dual master cylinder underneath. The rear is a 12 bolt posi with 3.36:1 gears. Wouldn't hurt to install 3.73, but the 3.36 is a nice compromise. All in all it's a good solid truck that is quite fast. The headers, dual exhaust and single chamber welded mufflers may irritate the neighbors, so be forewarned. It'll shake the tires loose at 20-25 mph in first gear, but needs traction bars, as it tends to wheel-hop with the leaf springs. I was planning on installing a Heidt's front suspension kit, and 4 link setup in the rear. This truck is for sale locally, so I may pull the auction at any time. I can be reached from noon 'til midnight at 724-523-2947 with any questions.Local pickup preferred, and cash talks! I'm located near Jeannette, PA, just east of Pittsburgh, about 4.5 miles east of PA turnpike exit 67, and just off US route 30. My zip code is 15644.
