Unlike the standard Chevy Van which was nothing more than a windowless van with a driver's seat standard, the Nomad had a front passenger and second row bench seat, with windows in the sliding door and in the driver's side panel just opposite of the sliding door. Behind the second seat was a cargo section consisting of plywood paneling in the rear (no window in the back walls or rear panel doors). The floor covering was carpeting for the second seat forward, with color keyed vinyl in the rearmost (load) section.
The basic trim finishing mirrored the top of the line ZM8 Beauville level appointments available in other Chevy Van models, including the passenger oriented Sportvan.
Specifically, the features for the Nomad as detailed in 1977 literature included:
Outside- -
*Nomad nameplates on front fenders and rear door
*B98 lower bodyside moldings
*P03 bright hubcaps
*V22 chrome grille
*V37 chrome front and rear bumpers
*bright windshield reveal moldings
*bright trim for side marker lamps and taillights
*dual note horn
*unique front side marker lamps and rear bodyside reflectors
Inside- -
*rear compartment cargo tie downs
*U37 cigarette lighter
*rear compartment coat hooks
*B30 floor and wheelhouse carpeting (w/rear floor mat)
*Parchment vinyl headliner
*BC2 wood-grained instrument panel
*additional insulation on floors, sidewalls, and rear doors
*A57 front auxiliary seat w/r.h. sunshade
*Beauville level upholstery in a choice of custom vinyl or plaid cloth
*P17 color-keyed spare tire cover
*Beauville level trim on front and sliding doors
*chestnut color plywood panels on rear compartment sidewalls and rear doors
*swing out windows in r.h. sliding door and opposite side panel
There was some variation in trim content for later model years. Also, the option package was cancelled at the close of the 1981 model year.
