Description:

1972 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 1500 Custom

I bought this truck just over one year ago, and I have decided not to continue on this project. You can view the last owners video at his Youtube link:

As for my efforts, many front axle parts were replaced including warn locking hubs, a new heater core was installed, new tires were installed,I also painted the wheels black just to get a sense of the color change. The wheels will need to be repainted. Many other misc. parts, such as a new style, one wire alternator. The rear brake drums and shoes were replaced, as well as new pads and calipersfor the front brakes,. and a new master cylinder.

No body work was performed during my ownership. I was only attempting to get it to daily driver status. I think it still needs attention to become a daily driver.

The prior owners listing stated:

"1972 Chevy K10 ½ ton 4x4 Long Bed Pickup

This is a factory 4x4 (CKE) Vin code. I found this truck in the high desert of eastern WA, I bought it for a customer to restore, his financesand wife would not allow so here it is for sale. This truck had been sitting for 5 years in a garage until I got it and brought it back to life. I have it to a running/driving point, I've tested the major components, driven it 25 miles with no complaints. I'm selling this as a project needs more testing before I would call it a daily driver. Please view all the pictures on the link below and watch the video, they are part of the item description, more detail than can be articulated in this add.

MECHANICAL

The original (corrected that this IS NOT the original) 350 has been rebuilt with low miles, we compression and leak down tested it, passed with flying colors, stock rebuild with original components. TH-350 automatic transmission shifts like it should, NP205 gear driven transfer case works great.3.73 geared Dana 44 power disc brake front axle, 12 bolt rear axle. Power steering works great. We checked and added any fluids, coolant good to -45F.

BODY

Overall the body is in good shape for a 67-72 4x4. There is typical rocker rust and the passenger front fender needs replaced. The bed is good, check out all the pictures on the link, it tells the story. Good frame, no signs of any accidents.

This truck is a good start for any type of restoration from body on to off, depends how far you want to go. Can also be slowly fixed up and driven as is. 1972 is the best/last/most desired year of this 4x4 body style. Important to buy a factory 4x4 as the frame /cross members, and other components are different from 2wd, saves a bunch of conversion headaches." This is quoted from the last owners listing.
