What a rare find! This 1979 Corvette is very unique with all of the options it has. The documentation is incredible, along with the complete ownership history back to new including copies of the titles. Also sold new at Malcolm Konner Chevrolet, at which most may or may not know, but Chevrolet actually made a Corvette special edition model in his name in 1986. Finished in Corvette Red with Black leather interior. We have actually owned this Corvette before, so we do know alot about the car and its history. We first purchased this car from the son of the father that bought the car new in 1979 and we acquired it in 2013. The car was in Florida at that time and we had it shipped up here to Missouri. We accessed the car and looked it over thoroughly and decided to have the car repainted at that time. The body was all original and from what we could tell had not been in any accidents. The paint was ok and did show some age is the real reason we painted it. As most may know these factory original paint jobs were not all that good and many needed new paint jobs even when they rolled off the assembly line. We did remove all of the emblems, spoilers, hood and had the car professionally redone here locally. It did come out nice! Now the car shines like it should and does stand out much better than most all with the original finishes. We did not overdue the paint, as we wanted it to have some orange peal and still look original, but much better shine. We did not repaint the door jambs as they still looked nice and all labels still were on the drivers side door. The paint does match up nice to the door jamb itself. At that time we did this we detailed some of the chassis and engine compartment, but not overdone. The paint job was done here locally at Redline Finishes in Ozark MO as he is my brother and has redone all of our corvettes when needed. He has painted several of our cars that have achieved the prestigious Bloomington Gold Award and NCRS Top Flight Awards. He has also done a few vehicles for the SEMA show held annually in Las Vegas. He knows how to make them perfect, but also knows how to tone it down to look more original that the judges want to see at the Corvette meets. Many of the components cleaned up nicely and did not need much attention at all. The smog pump is still there and all of the original exhaust system including the catalytic converter are still intact! The engine bay we lightly detailed including the air cleaner assembly, hood latches, new under hood insulation, new valve cover gaskets, fan blade removed and refinished, all giving it that "showroom" new look. The rocker moldings were removed and cleaned, spare tire carrier removed and cleaned, new exhaust clamps, removed the rear leaf spring and installed new liners and refinished, just a nice cosmetic restoration to bring this car to a strong level 2 condition. All of the window glass was good and original, the glass tops are date coded and are very nice, the aluminum wheels were removed and completely polished out to a show like shine, new center caps and lug bolts, new correct GoodYear Eagle GT outlined white lettered tires installed at a cost of $435 each totaling $1,740! This car actually still had two of its original tires on it when we first bought this car and these were the optional ones that came on this car according to the original window sticker. Myself personally, think that this tire really makes this car. This tire was first introduced on the Pace Car Replicas and became an option in 1979. The are sizes P255/60-R15. Standard sizes were P225/70-R15. These tires have about 3,000 miles on them. Overall the paint, trim and emblems on this car does stand real tall and is one of the nicest 79's you will find.INTERIOR:For the most part this interior is all original and in excellent shape. We did replace the floor mats but the carpet is original and does not need replacing. All of your brake and clutch pedals are nice with no wear, instruments are still nice and fresh, weatherstripping is still in great shape, seats are original and look amazing, dash pad and steering wheel are original and look almost new, we basically just gave it a nice cleaning and it came out nice. The center plastic console was replaced as those are plastic and tend to get scratched up easily. The passenger door panel did have a tear in it so it was replaced with a new one but the original was saved and included with the sale of this corvette along with touch up paint. Strong #2 condition as well on the interior.
CHASSIS:For the most part we did leave it untouched as it did not need much attention. The frame is excellent with no rust or even pitting for that matter. We did remove the tie rod ends and cleaned them up, replaced with backing dust shields on the front disc brakes, removed the entire original exhaust system and repainted in a nice natural high heat finish that will not burn off, removed the shocks and repainted, rear leaf spring removed and new liners installed, refinished like original and reinstalled, refinished the oil pan in the original blue color, overall again like the rest of the car we did not try to over restore but more preserve and detail areas that we thought needed some attention to bring this car to the level that it is today. The car by no means is perfect, but better than 99% of what you see for sale and is priced accordingly. I don't think anyone will be disappointed seeing this car in every angle, on top and underneath.
OWNER HISTORY:As being in the Corvette business since 1988, we tell all of our customers that when the are ready to sell their corvette, let us know first as we would like another chance owning it. We strive to have the nicest and well kept corvettes, but is not always easy at most times. We first purchased this car back in 2013 from one of the original family members that his father had bought this car new and after doing the light restoration we sold it somewhat locally to a gentleman in Fayetteville Arkansas. He purchased this corvette from us on March 3rd, 2013 with the miles showing only 33,781. He lived within 150 miles of our business so when he decided to sell in 2015 he reached out to us. He did drive this car approx. 3,000 miles as it shows now only 36,572. He was going into his own business venture at that time and decided to sell this corvette back to us. We then turned around and almost immediately sold this car to a gentleman in Ohio that was looking for something just like this one with the options it had. We bought the car back on January 7th, 2015 and then sold on January 28th 2015 to a man in Lebanon Ohio. The mileage was 36,472 at that time in 2015. I kept in touch with him as well and recently I received a call from him that he never drives the car and would consider selling back to me if I was interested. He had only driven the car 67 miles in a little over a three year period. He had just bought a new motorcycle and was adding several accessories onto it and decided to let the corvette go. So that is how we now have owned this car twice and is for sale again. It really is one of those keeper types of cars, but I cannot keep them all. I am in the business of buying and selling so this car deserves to go to another good home as it has been for the past 5 years. The car was always stored inside and started regularly. I did change the oil and filter since we bought the back and have taken it out for a drive and always liked the one this one handled and drove with that 4-Speed. I just do not get many in like this one and as detailed as it is. Everything does work on the car with the exception of two things. The tachometer for some reason is not operating and after doing some research there is a tach filter that needs to be changed and from the sources I buy parts from is on back order and will no be available for a month or so. Also the air conditioning does work and blow through the vents, but is not ice cold as it probably needs a recharge. That is about it for the problems that I know of which are small and can be corrected. Again I do not think anyone would be disappointed in this Corvette and if I thought it was not a real good car, I would not have bought it back now twice. It is a investment grade 1979 model and is a rare one.

The tires were replaced in 2013 and purchased through Kelsey Tire Of Camdenton Missouri as all suppliers that you buyGoodYear tires from actually come from him! These tires are exactly like what would have been on this car when new andwere an option for 1979. The sizes all around are P255/60R-15. These tires are listed at $435 on his website so the tiresalone if you were to replace them today would cost you $1,740! That does not include freight nor mounting and balancing. This is just another reason that makes this car so unique as most all dealers and or individuals would not spend that kind ofmoney just for tires. The tires on this car make the looks of this model in my opinion.
Back in 1979 this would have been the "ULTIMATE" Corvette with the optional L-82 engine, 4-Speed, and all other optionsthis car had!
Other features that were standard equipment include power steering, power 4-wheel disc brakes, limited slip differential rear axle, high-energy ignition system, 4-wheel independent suspension, anti-theft audio alarm system, bucket seats with your choice of leather or cloth seating inserts, special instrumentation, cut-pile carpeting, tinted glass, and removable roof panels.
