Description:

1971 Chevrolet Biscayne

I'm the second owner of this 1971 Chevrolet Biscayne survivor. The first owner purchased it new in July of 1971, put only put on a little over 52K miles until he passed away.It had been last registered in 2004 and stored in a barn.
Those who rescued it had installed a new headliner, dash cap, speaker for the AM radio, rear coil springs and a set of tires.I bought it last Spring and have replaced radiator and hoses, belts, along with distributor, plugs and wires tune up.I also replaced the carburetor with an exact model number replacement.I have been sure to use a lead substitute and ethanol-free gasoline. It is a jump back in time to go cruising in this car.I have taken it to shows and driven around town and down the highway. It now has over 54K miles and ready to drive anywhere.
There are not many like this left out there; in fact, it is one of 2900 models made in 1971 with a 6-cyl 3-speed, per Wikipedia. So, yes, it has the bulletproof inline 6 with a three-on-the-tree, which averages almost 20mpg.The clutch is good and brakes even better. The hood release works great. The emergency brake works well. All windows roll up and down. All locks work freely, including the trunk. There are seat belts for 6 people.Power steering is effortless.Power brakes are predictable.Vent cables work freely.Headlights and wipers work.Lighter works.Dome light works.
There is no rust, although there is a nice patina under the hood. The paint is original with minor touch-ups in a few spots. The trunk is very clean. The interior is presentable. It is quiet with an aluminized exhaust. It would be an easy restore, but they are only original once.Included in sale is all the documentation I have, including the original title, Protect-O-Plate and owners manual, as well as a set of Iowa plates from 1971.I will also include a set of front coil springs with one coil cut and a front anti-sway bar.
It has been appraised at $6500, but my reserve is much less. There is no warranty or guarantee, but I would drive it anywhere.
I don't need to sell, and it is reasonably priced.I require a deposit of $500 via PayPal from the winning bidder within 48 hours.
Buyer is responsible for pick-up or shipping of the car.I have a car trailer and may negotiate delivery for an additional fee.
