Description:

1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 RALLY SPORT

I BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM A GENTLEMAN WHO HAD OWNED IT FROM MARCH 1973 UNTIL RECENTLY, HE WAS FORCED TO SELL IT DUE TO HEALTH ISSUES.

IT IS A REAL Z28 THAT STARTED LIFE DAYTONA YELLOW WITH BLACK RALLY STRIPES & RALLY SPORT PACKAGE - IT IS AN EARLY Z28 BUILT IN OCT OF 1968 (1OD ON COWL PLATE) BLACK VINYL STANDARD INTERIOR. I HAVE SEVERAL PICTURES OF THE CAR FROM 1973 WITH THE PREVIOUS OWNER STANDING ALONG THE BACK OF THE CAR (I EVEN HAVE THE LICENSE PLATE FROM THE PICTURE AS WELL!!!) AND A FEW PICTURES OF THE CAR AT THE DRAGSTRIP IN 1973/1974.

IT STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL 12 BOLT POSI WITH 3:73 GEARS AND ITS DATE CODE & VIN STAMPED CORRECT MUNCIE 4 SPEED TRANSMISSION (REBUILT AND RECORDED BY Jerry MacNeish) REBUILT IN 2008.

ON THE 1973 MASSACHUSETTS TITLE THE CAR HAD 21,000 MILES ON IT, THE CAR WAS DRIVEN AND DRAG RACED ON A REGULAR BASIS, THE ORIGINAL DZ 302 WAS BLOWN UP IN 1975. SOME OF THE ORIGINAL DZ PARTS HAVE BEEN KEPT. THE BLOCK AND PISTONS ARE LONG GONE BUT I DO HAVE THE FOLLOWING 302 PARTS: CRANK, RODS, WINDAGE TRAY, HEADS, WINTERS INTAKE, DISTRIBUTOR (rebuilt by Jerry MacNeish) WATER PUMP, ORIGINAL RADIATOR AND A FEW OTHER ODDS AND ENDS, ALSO KNOW OF A DATE CODE CORRECT BLOCK FOR $2,500) THE CAR CURRENTLY HAS A ZZ383 STROKER WITH 4,187 MILES ON IT.

IN 1979 THE CAR WAS PUT AWAY WITH 70,000 MILES ON IT AND THE OWNER BEGAN TO BUY ORIGINAL GM PARTS FOR IT SUCH AS QUARTERS AND OTHER ITEMS THAT WOULD NEED REPLACEMENT. THE ACTUAL RESTORATION DID NOT BEGIN UNTIL 2009, SO THE CAR SAT FOR ROUGHLY 30 YEARS UNTOUCHED.

THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY DISASSEMBLED, ANYTHING RUSTED WAS REPLACED WITH COMPLETE PANELS SUCH AS THE QUARTERS, DOORS AND FLOOR PAN (COMPLETE RESTORATION PHOTOS ARE AVAILABLE) THE GAPS WERE DIALED IN AND THE CAR WAS ASSEMBLED WITH MANY GM NOS PARTS THAT WERE COLLECTED OVER THE YEARS AND WHAT WASN'T NOS WAS PURCHASED FROM THE NORMAL CHANNELS SUCH AS ECKLERS, CLASSIC INDUSTRIES, SUMMIT, EBAY ETC, I HAVE AN ACCORDIAN FOLDER FULL OF RECEIPTS AND VARIOUS OTHER PAPERWORK.

THE RESTORATION WAS COMPLETED 2010/2011, SINCE THEN HAS BEEN DRIVEN 4,187 MILES AND LOOKS AS GOOD NOW AS IT DID WHEN IT WAS DONE.

PAINT IS A 9.9 OUT OF 10 AND THE GAPS ARE PERFECT

GLASS - BRAND NEW

DOORS TRUNK AND HOOD SHUT PERFECTLY

THE ENTIRE INTERIOR INCLUDING DOORS, FLOORS & ROOF HAVE DYNAMAT AND YOU CAN TELL WHEN YOU CLOSE THE DOORS & TRUNK - THE CAR IS SOLID, QUIET WHEN YOU ARE IN IT BUT WHEN THE CAR DRIVES BY IT SOUNDS AWESOME (HAD POLISHED STAINLESS EXHAUST)

ENGINE BAY, INTERIOR AND UNDERSIDE OF THE CAR WERE COMPLETELY STRIPPED AND PAINTED, LOOKS LIKE NEW
