1969 Chevrolet Chevelle

1969 chevelle ss 396/375 L78, Or copo l72, this car is a factory high horse 4 speed car with chambered exhausts. This car was sold new at Jim price Chevrolet in Charlottesville, va. the car was originally lemans blue with a black vinyl top, black bucket seat interior. This car is possibly a early copo. The earliest known copo was built within few numbers of this car. I have been working to dig up any and all history on this car but it's been tough, the previous owner has past away. I know for a fact the car is at least an L78 or greater. Paint and trim info is straight from the cowl tag located on top of the firewall. This is a Baltimore, Md plant built chevelle. Car was built last week of January 1969. I have the original broadcast sheet found under rear seat, some info visible. Car was nicely optioned with factory tachometer and gauge package, rosewood steering wheel, chambered dual exhausts, power disc brakes with 2 piece rotors still in place, dated brake booster matches build of car. Correct master cylinder. m21 Muncie 660 case period correct close ratio 4 speed transmission just rebuilt and all gm, F40 suspensio, 12 bolt rear end kk code 4:10 posi factory 4 series Eaton posi 174 case. Rear was just rebuilt all new bearings and seals set back to factory specs. Original l78 and up driveshaft in it. Car comes with some original engine parts to include the 163 intake, 780 gm Holley carb, oil pan, timing cover and lower 291 deep groove pulley. Single large fuel line still in place with original clips to indicate high horse option car. 6000 x7000 Tach also indicates high horse option car as well as chambered exhaust still on car. Chambered exhausts was a option on chevelles after December All factory soft ray tinted glass in it and nice. The body of this chevelle is very solid. Car has all gm body panels, nice ss hood. Floor pans are great. Rear quarters were patched once and could be reworked or replaced. original 4 speed hole was opened up for a race shifter however I located a nice factory 4 speed hump to repair it. All trim and chrome is here. Trunk pan is solid with just light scale rust on inside in the center as seen in the photo. Interior of car is great. Seats are nice, dash pad is near perfect, all wiring is gm and original to the car, dash cluster great and original to the car. Needs a carpet set, door panels and rear shelf. Car steers and rolls nice. Has 15' rally wheels with derby caps all the way around. I have a clear Virginia title and ncrs report showing who sold the car new. This car will be a great winter project worth doing. Real cars are getting hard to find in project form. I have a lift if you would like to look and inspect the car in person. 500.00 deposit due within 48 hours of sale. Balance to be paid with 7 days after deposit.
