1979 Chevrolet Corvette

This car has been rebuilt from the ground up with each component getting refreshed or replaced as part of the restoration. The chassis is from a rust-free donor '78 and was built up with Steeroids rack and pinion power-steering kit, fiberglass rear spring, new fuel/brake lines, new brakes, rebuilt calipers and new Foose wheels. All rubber was replaced with new or exchanged for polyurethane. The body was transplanted with the accompanying "bird cage" from the donor and the floor pans were also replaced. The interior is all brand new, including Dakota Digital gauges, custom aftermarket seats, Retro Sound Bluetooth Stereo and new speakers all around. The lights have all been upgraded to LED, yes the headlights too.
The transmission is the stock TH350 but has been rebuilt. The engine has been rebuilt with the original block and heads, but all internals have been upgraded and the cylinders were bored .050 over, cam is mild for street use. The Engine features a Fitech fuel injection system w/ auxiliary fuel sump and electric pump under the hood and coordinating electric fan. The radiator is a Champion aluminum radiator with the transmission cooler tank as well. The exhaust is a one-off production from my imagination and required the removal of the A/C, but so worth it. It is Jet coated from headers back and wrapped in a couple places under the hood for added heat containment.
Outside the car you can see the differences, but the headlight and front bumper section was also custom designed and built, the rear is a ZR-1 fiberglass bumper has has been molded on. All the fiberglass was gel-coated over for more reliability. The T-tops were replaced with an Astro-top one-piece blue tinted top. The gas door was replaced with a cobra style roller gas cap, inside is a Perma-cap/vented cap so you can just insert the nozzle straight in without unscrewing and removing that. The wheels are 17" Foose "Knuckles" with 235/55/17 all-season tires. There are many custom touches on the car and I may have left something out.
The build has been stretched out over about 8 years and I haven't kept up with the costs after about the $20K mark. You will notice some expensive modifications amongst the list and the paint/fiberglass job was a $10K expense after I stopped counting. I have spared no expense (for the most part) and built this for me, never intending to sell it. It is a special, true one of a kind Corvette and gets the appropriate attention for that. It runs and sounds as good as it looks. The original mileage is 64,XXX but there are only a few parts of this car that have seen those miles - most of the car has only seen about 1,000 miles or less.
I have a collectible insurance policy on the car and they appraised it at $25,000 even before it had the new paint job. I haven't had it reappraised but they said it would add $7-10K more depending on the quality - which is fantastic.
I also have original dealer documents if you are interested in that sort of thing, I thought it was cool that the original owner kept them and passed them on. There are some extra parts and new wear/tear parts for later. The build manuals and books for new parts are there too.
Call, text, or email and I'll be happy to talk about it. I have reduced the price quite a bit to get it sold since I kind of need to sell it.
