Description:
This car was originally purchased by my Grandmother in 1975, and I remember riding in it often, usually with the top down, when I was a child.
Driven occasionally in the summer by my cousin up until four years ago. Always garaged, started occasionally, but has not been started in at least a year or longer.
The top was replaced a couple years ago, and is in good shape, just dirty from sitting. I wiped the whole car down with soap and water before taking photos, but it needs a thorough cleaning. Top should return to bright white with proper cleaning.
Chrome trim all looks nice, no tears or other problems noticed on the seats. Rear view mirror is detached from the windshield but is included. Original jack and spare tire are in the trunk.
Everything on the car should work (A/C, electronics, etc.), but as mentioned above, I have not tried to start the car or tested anything. I didn't want to try starting it before changing fluids and other standard maintenance (which has not been done), so the winning bidder will need to make arrangements to pick up the car and have it towed.
Car has been sitting in the driveway under a car cover for the past several weeks.
There is some surface rust on the undercarriage, but looks plenty solid, as well as the floor panels. There is some rust through the outer door and fender panels along the bottom edges (see photos).
I took lots of photos (more than 50), but eBay only allows 24. If you are interested in more photos or a photo of something specific, just let me know and I will send you photos via eBay messages. The car parts in the photos of the trunk are for another vehicle and not part of this auction, the trunk will be empty (except for the original jack and spare tire) when pick-up is arranged.
This is a great old car, original, 1 family ownership, and low miles (54,478 original miles). It's a BIG car! Classic black with white interior and white Convertible top, 350 cubic inch V8 engine loaded with options.
Needs a new home and some TLC. Would love for someone to restore it (and to see pictures of the completed project), but could be enjoyed and driven 'as is' after some standard maintenance.
