1985 unique and rare Chevy Astro Diesel Conversion Van. Diesel power by Nissan LD28, 2.8L inline 6 cylinder engine. Manual 5-Speed transmission, also Nissan. To my knowleadge, this is the only single Astro Diesel van in the USA. Body in new condition, not one rust spot. First registered in Oregon, then Washington, now in Arizona. Re-painted in 2008 with two-color as seen in pictures. Mechanically very solid condition. Runs and drives good. Mileage on engine is 210k miles, body unknown. This is a "Shorty", short wheelbase van. It began it's live as a cargo van. The dual back-doors and the side sliding door were upgraded with tinted and opening windows from a Safari van. Fuel economy is guaranteed 25-27 miles/gal diesel. Current 08/2018 maintenance service performed: 1) Fuel filter (Napa) replaced, good for 15k miles 2) All brand new tires (now 50miles) 3) Oil and oil-filter change 4) Valve clearance adjustment, good for 25k miles 5) A/C leaky hose replacement and re-charge Recent service done: new windshield glass (2016), new battery (2015), fuel injector cleaning and adjustment (2015), complete proffessional diesel injection-pump overhaul (receipt 2014), new brakes and shocks 30k miles ago. Some spare parts included with the sale: brand new clutch kit, rear brake liners, factory Service Manual. Vehicle is for Diesel lovers who don't mind a slow, underpowered (80HP) van. High altitude and mountains slow it down. However, 65-75 MPH can be easy maintaned on flat lands. Therefore, best used in non-mountainous states east of Colorado. Great for long distance travel. If tired, pull over and sleep on the bunk bed. If you do not work on cars and diesel engines, this van is NOT for you. Vehicle is sold "as is, where is”.
