Description:

1972 Chevrolet Blazer CST

I am the 2nd owner of this Blazer and have owned it for 6 years. I purchased it from the original owner in Arizona where it spent its life, so the Blazer is nice and dry. I kept it garaged at my folks house in Eugene, OR until 11 July 2018 when I drove it to Coronado, CA where I'm stationed in the Navy.
It's in all original condition including the paint, carpet, upholstery, trim, rubbers, etc. All GM! All original matching # drive train including motor, TRANS, transfer case and differentials. 350 V-8, TURBO 350 AUTO TRANS, POSI, tilt wheel (added), tinted glass, AC. The original low miles, 85K, are documented on the title. Underneath is stock and very clean! Original blue shocks, original exhaust, etc. The Blazer is very clean and dry top to bottom. It has the desirable Hickey Enterprise 40 gallon fuel tank with a very accurate fuel gauge, a NOS steering wheel, original date coded tinted glass including the doors, vent windows and removable top.
Recently, before the road trip to CA, I had the premier West Coast restoration shop, Metal Works Classics, of Eugene, OR, complete a mechanical restoration on the Blazer. I have all the receipts totaling over $16K and they will be included with the sale. Some of the work included:
* Rebuild TH 350 TRANS* AC DELCO Battery* GM Starter* Rebuild, Replace Joints, Rebalance front drive shaft* GM Yoke* GM Tilt Column* NOS Steering Wheel* Gear indicator, dash mount, white pointer* Pinion nut and seal* BFG AT K0 30x9.5 tires* Powder coat rims satin black* Inspect reseal NP205 transfer case* Flex plate* AC Delco Friction Modifier* Re-key door, ignition, and hatch locks* Rebuild complete AC system, convert to R134* AC compressor DELCO* AC dryer* GM Limited slip additive* Service differentials* AC Delco spark plug wire set* 180 degree thermostat* Ignition points* Distributor Rotor and CAP* Ignition Condenser* Fel-Pro SBC valve cover gasket set* Timken seal* Bearing and seal kit* Heater valve* External regulator GM alternator* Airtex water pump* Fuel tank sending unit GM* Fel-pro gaskets, manifold, intake printoseal, SBC* Brake pads* Brake master cylinder* Brake lines* SBC fuel pump* 4 core radiator* Heater core with AC* Wiper blades,* AC Delco Spark plugs* Radiator / heater hoses / clamps* Alternator, AC, power steering belts,* GM battery cables* Tinted front windshield and seal
The Blazer does have bumps and bruises. The wood grain moldings are baked and dented, a exterior spare tire carrier was removed from the tailgate leaving mounting holes, a roll bar was removed from the interior, the carpet is faded and has stains, and there are dents near the taillights. But once again, all GM, nothing covered up, painted, or disguised. Thanks to the dry Arizona weather, every piece of chrome on the Blazer, both inside and outside is beautiful. No pitting or deterioration what so ever. The vent windows and removable top windows have remarkable glass rubbers with no deterioration.
On the 11th of July, I drove the Blazer from Eugene, OR to San Diego, CA, non-stop, 1000 miles, in 95 degree heat down the I-5 through the Sacramento Valley. The Blazer performed perfectly! It didn't miss a beat. The AC was blowing cold the entire way, the TEMP gauge stayed low and the oil pressure stayed high. The Blazer didn't use a drop of oil during the 16 hour road trip. It was a true pleasure and joy making the road trip. I would take my hand of the wheel at 70MPH and it tracked true and straight down the freeway.
I'm a Navy Officer transferring to the East Coast in August, so rather than take it to where the roads get salted, and without a garage, I have decided to put it up for sale. We start our drive across the country on the 19th of August, so it will need to be picked up before then from Coronado, CA.
I will include a pair of NOS high rise front bumper guards, and a GM TACH cluster assembled with NOS gauges at the buy it now price.
I don't think there are many of these left that haven't been "fixed up" or restored. Not to mention one that is truly road worthy and fully sorted out.
