Description:

1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS Rally Sport Package

1969 Camaro Rally Sport RS automatic with an original 327 engine. The transmission has been changed from a powerglide to a 3-speed automatic sometime before I owned the car. The engine runs good and the car shifts good and can be driven. Would not recommend driving long distances until all systems have been checked and serviced. The car has been garaged the last 26 years and driven very little over the last 15 years. This is a nice car for someone looking for a project that does not need a ton of work to make a nice driver, or someone looking to do a complete restoration. I will list everything I can think of about the car to give you an idea of what you are getting and to avoid surprises or misrepresentation. Here's a video to start off the listing.

Original Rally Sport car with hidden headlights that are currently not functional. The car does not have all the components to make them work such as actuators and the vacuum reserve etc... The hidden headlights are manual open only. The A/C is not hooked up but I have the compressor and other parts that are included. The dash has a makeshift repair (metal plate) after a radio was stolen from the car in order to get another radio in. I have another original dash complete with center clock and rosewood trim pieces that go with the car. The horn is not wired through the steering wheel but has a push button under the dash that works. There is a small antifreeze leak at the thermostat on the manifold that needs the gasket replaced. The power steering pump is leaking and needs repaired. Most of the oil residue underneath is coming from the power steering pump. The interior is in good condition with newer seat covers but needs a few trim pieces replaced like the lock piece on the glove box, inner lining and a door handle is missing a knob. I have some of these parts and everything shown is included. The front bumper and rear spoiler are loose and need tightening. Some of the rear studs have pulled loose on the rear spoiler. The bumper has been painted to match car and is not an Endura bumper. Has a small area along back window and vinyl top with a bit of crude caulking job. The engine and 10 bolt rear end are original but the transmission as mentioned has been changed to a 3-speed automatic. The car runs good and does not knock or have any signs of internal engine problems. An Edelbrock manifold and 4 barrel Quadrajet carburetor were added by a previous owner along with a Moroso air cleaner. The transmission shifts good and the car drives. The car has a dated set of air shocks that will leak over a short period of time. The shocks and suspension are due for an upgrade. The car has some minor dings and paint chips along with some bubbling around back window and lower front fenders- see photos. The underneath side of the car shows some rust but I see no gaping holes. The oil pan shows some dents and oil residue but not leaking or dripping that I can see. The oil has been changed and a new battery installed. This engine runs good and idles smoothly. The radio antenna has been broken off and needs replaced. The hood has about a 5 or 6" split down the center and the inner fender well on the passenger side has a cut down the center. I have added photos of most of the items mentioned so please review everything closely and watch the entire video.
What you are getting in this car is a nice looking car that will turn heads as is but needs some things done to make it a nice driver. The exterior paint is an older repaint ( probably around 30 years ago) and has some chips and bubbling around the window trim and lower front fender panels along with some rock chips on the lower panels. The car was originally Dover white with a blue vinyl top and interior. Very unusual and rare color combination. This car is located about 60 miles from Chicago in Northwest Indiana and can be inspected by appointment. I should be available much of the week if interested in checking it out. Contact Bob or leave a message at 219-508-1830 and I will do my best to answer all inquiries.
